Suzanne-Akhil to tie the knot again!
They might have got married two years back, but that doesn't stop actors Suzanne Bernert and Akhil Mishra to go for the saat pheras yet again. Yes, the duo is all set to go for a traditional wedding ceremony on September 30.
Ask Suzanne about this unusual decision of taking rounds of the sacred fire two years since a civil marriage in February, 2009, and the first foreign bahu in a primetime soap ("Kasauti Zindagi Kay") opens up, "That's because my father wanted me to go for a traditional wedding like the way he has seen happening on Indian television. This is the first time that he's visiting us after marriage. And I thought it best to give in to his demands." The couple, who has started deciding on the guestlist says, they need to be reminded at times that they too will have to make it to the venue! "It's good fun. I need to be told that I will have to be there at the wedding. But it's going to be one helluva traditional affair. I'm planning to wear a red lehenga, but my brother is making endless calls from Germany to give his suggestions. I also spoke to a friend yesterday on how to sport mehndi on the hands," says Suzanne. Even if Suzanne's parents couldn't make it to their 2009 wedding, the actor explains how Akhil and her father get along like a house on fire. "When we had visited my parents in Germany, Akhil and my father would disappear for two-three hours. It's strange because my father isn't conversant in English and Akhil doesn't know German," says the actor. The wedding will happen at Akhil's cousin's place and will be blessed by the actor's octogenarian mother apart from Suzanne's parents. Friends of the duo, of course, are also invited.
