Hi guys...i got this really pretty silk sari as a wedding gift 2.5 years ago..and i haven't had a chance to wear it...am in the u.s...so am wondering...are silk saris considered to be old fashioned? do people in their 20's wear them? the one i have is double toned, so its yellow polka dots in the middle and blue pallu with embroidery...but I dont want to look like an aunty..its an elegant sari..with half sleeve blouse...unfortunately i had asked for a trendy blouse..but ended up with the traditional half sleeve...any advice would be super cool! In uttaran they wear some great saris..for real! do post back..

Hi dear, its not that Silk is old fashioned.....but yes now days georgettes, chiffons and net sarees are a trend specially for the girls in their 20s. With the silk saree you can actually team it up with a short sleeve blouse, I mean thats up to you if can do a little bit of cutting- stitching and not exacting a sleeveless...............but for about 3-5 inches from your shoulder.

Also team it up with fashion jewelleries. Gold also goes well with Silk especially on traditional events like weddings and all. Otherwise you can experiment with Kundan or matching stone setting jewelleries.
Hope this wud help u a bit to get an insight atleast.................😊😛

u can decorate your sleeves with small hangings of any color there in your saree and if possible tie a dori at the back with a big hanging on it. it looks cool my sis got this style in her blouse, she took the idea from ichcha if u rem. she wore a white saree when ichcha, vansh n veer-taps went for outing
