IMLI ...TIMLI... Suraj Rajvanshi used to address his SIDEKICK only like this... True to his character... he did consider her more than a sidekick as she was the only one who was with him right from the childhood... And indeed gave her the special space... (well lets not bother about the regression)

Girls... Please leave your chappals, rotten tomatoes...eggs in the corners and not throw on me.

I don't know ... Yesterday's episode left me thinking about the names of Udaan... The main characters

Suraj😳...Apt name... Hmmm let me hold on as you all know if I delve deep ... I will be going on and on...😉

Chakor 😊... my cutie chirpy bird... ok sumi hold yourself...

Vivaan ... Yes the other name of Lord Krishna... Befitting to him cute...😛

Comes now wondering why this name IMLI😲..... haven't heard anybody named after Tamarind... Wondering...

Then I realised yes makers cannot be without her...

Okie some botanical renderingsss... Imli... Tamarind is a tropical fruit with its pulp and this can be used in all the dishes especially the South Indian dishes... And the best part is it is sour but turns sweety and acidic over times... (You all got what I am getting to)

It's the one ingredient which is best as a sweet, as a savoury, as pickle and can be added in all dishes unless you make the sweet as sweet dishes...But it is added and when added it complements the dishes...

Ok... Now ...Makers wanted something like this...to run throughout the show...so she was added in all phases of everyone's life... right from Chagan...(I meant the old one) till the latest RanVijay...

But did Imli😭... had the potential to change the taste, flavour, the look of the dish...??

So this Imli was also given various shades, layers.

I felt that next to Suraj, Imli was the character which had so much potential of being cute, grey, turned a bit white siding the sister, infatuated teenager, an obsessed wife... abused lady... a slight shade of white while supporting sukor... turning grey again for a flimsy reason and complete dark not even dark black a no moon day...

Well in one of the interviews VJ rightly said when a reporter asked Meera about how her character has grown... He said her acting has matured but being a protagonist she could not bring out shades or layers while he could as he had various layers, shades and what he became is a legand by itself...

True next to Suraj... Imli had that same potential but Imli was only timli and just could not go beyond it... Imli could not become tingly at all ...tingly or tingling is that sensational feeling, pricks of needles, numbness etc etc... but this character could not do justice to its Name... as this Imli turned out to be that just simple brown (wooden) fruit inside with its strings attached(expression).

What could have been the best turned to be the worst...

Did the makers make the wrong choice...😕😲...

She had the most changing looks from that of the cute side pony ...to revolver Rani get up... sweety wife with lovely sarees and accessories... not a repeat of costume, though they were struggling without money... then the terribleRam Leea Surpiya Pathak look... can these make it up for the ever trending wooden expression and that constipated look...

But after reading your post I must say that I completely agree. Unlike other characters of Udaan who were good in each shade (example Vivaan, Teju...) and I loved and hated them coz of story, when it comes to I*** she always provoked only weird irritation. That's only constituency when it comes to her.

But, I came here to reply on this post mainly to express my surprise. For the first time since I'm on this forum, be it as silent member or active, your post didn't made me emotional. And it didn't change my perception or offered me new pov. Because this is exactly my pov.

There is just one line, you wrote describing tamarind which doesn't fit in Imli's description at all. " when added it complementes the dishes...' She had never complemented anyone's life. She only made an illusion of complementing someone's life. At the end, one thing she have always done is she destroyed life people had before. She destroyed Vivaan, Ranjana, KN completely and everything they accomplished during life. She almost did the same with Suraj. She didn't destroyed Sukor's life but she destroyed what could have been beautiful 5 years of life. I must add that only person who got saved is Chagan, but being a slave, then KNs now I***s, his life was always hell, so there was nothing to destroy. But there is enough time. Once this guy starts to make his future and build his life Imli will be there to do her best to (try to) destroy it. And I believe this will be related to Gauri.

P.S. Be it Sukor or Tamarind, no promisses or "hold on" can help after your posts. You always activate my train of thoughts. Thank you for that.

IMO she hasn't grown as an actor in these two years, but it's the makers' fault to give her a role far beyond her capabilities, changing how she looks isn't a substitute for good acting. I also think this look has worked against her, she looks old and when she's walking, from behind it looks like her head is bent down and she's walking gingerly, I think she's struggling under the weight of the wig.

The makers are responsible for her flopping because they should've either brought an actor suitable for the character or changed the character sketch, she's more suited to play a scheming woman who's after money. Still she can't play a central role, she's only suited to be a side character, I grew tired of her smirk and screeches near the end of Banaras track.

It was hard to connect with Imli as a character because of the makers confusing characterization. Imli was rash, insecure and didn't hesitate to get what she wants with any means possible, a good template for an evil or gray character but the makers wanted us to consider her as good and a victim. She was never judged for the way she treated Chakor after the wedding or how she happily confessed to her that she loves Vivaan.

Then came the phase were Imli was white washed, a loving, loyal wife/sister who'll do anything for her loved ones. The height of the Saint Imli phase was when Chakor fell at her feet apologizing and imli lecturing Suraj about love and trust. The way the character took a 180 degrees turn was hard to believe, and the justification was weak and kept changing.

You have pointed it out correctly... after Suraj the character which had a scope to portray varied layers was imli's... But it all came to nothing because of the actor... I think that's why they tried so many things with her in the hope that something would click but I don't think it has!!!! Why is she still on board is something even CID would not be able to solve...😆😆

Actually the character would have devoloped well... But like mesh said the character did quite a few u turns which made us lose connect with it...I mean already we were never in sync with the actor and to add to it the so many shades which were never portrayed well made us lose connect with the character of imli...

So it has remained timli only and never was it and will be tingly

I dont like Imli nor the actress and i am so glad she didnt end up playing my fav character in the show. We should thank the person who made the right decision at he right time.
