I forgot all about that!!! ....man..... why couldn't they have gotton married?????
Radha was elder to Krishna, she was married but her heart lies with Krishna. All the gopikas and Radha were madly in love with them. It was a divine love and it is very well depicted in Raas leela. But one needs to go beyond social bondings to understand their love, they resided in each other's hearts. There is no comparison of Radha's as well as all the Gopikas love for Krishna. Radha is the incarnation of Laxmi and all the gopikas were different rishi-munis, who took birth, because they had expressed their desire in their previous birth to serve Lord Ram. But since Ram had taken one patni-brat, He promised them thta they will be able to get Him when he incarnates as Krishna in the next Yug. Vishnu takes incarnation in every Yug to establish righteousness and hence called Yugandhar. Vrinda is basically Tulsi (who is a part of Laxmi) and the entire Vrindavan got its name as it is filled with Tulsi plants.
Eventually, Krishna went back to Mathura to kill Kans and stayed there. This entire life revolved around activities in Mathura, then Dwarka and eventually HE made sure Dharma was extablished through Pandavs in Mahabharat. Thus they never really got married, but if there is a definition of love it is theirs.
