TSMSPJ*ep: 47* 26.5.17: My Impression *In the grand scheme of things..
A common phrase, which refers to the manner in which things are organized or the manner in which they happen in a particular situation. It may also mean the way someone wants things to be organized. The phrase can also be used comparatively where, one situation appears insignificant when compared with much serious issues. The episode predominantly belongs to Kanak. We see her in a bit of a quandary. Yes much has transpired with her in the grand scheme of things. However the five days with Uma Shankar now seem a little less significant when seen against the mutiny that erupts in her after she discovers the chicanery, the man adopted to gulp down Bhabo's shop.. her very life source.
Kanak's revulsion against Uma Shankar now shifts from how he abused her human rights into forcing her into marriage,to the fact that how he duped an old lady into creating a situation where by means of guile he got Bhabo's thumbprints . The cctv act of getting her coerced thumbprints is a thumbs up possibility of getting litigation started against him. Deeply disturbed after the registry cctv revelation. Kanak desperation to get even with Uma even makes her consider that Ved should be approached regards this issue and Bhabo too, will need to give witness to how her thumbprints were taken from her. But whenever it comes to Bhabo facing the reality of what's happened, all the Rathi's look to her general frailty, what the shop means to her? and thus conceal things from her. They even put up with Bhabo's obsession of exposing herself to danger at the shop to shield her from insecurity. Here Kanak too is on the verge of abandoning the idea.
Many seek the houses of faith when facing dilemmas and look to their personal deities to lighten them off their burdens. The setting is magnificent, a grand temple bedecked with fairy lights dressed like a bride, against the dark firmament. The symbols of Lord Shiva and the ringing of bells! An atmosphere is set! Illuminated too is the pier that projects into the water body that catches the reflection of the spiralling coloured lights. One lone figure pelts stones into the water aimlessly . Heavy laden and weary, her spirit calls out in despair to Lord Shiva.. if only by some miracle her father could be around her.. as she feels she is loneliest girl in the whole wide world. With great dramatic imagery linked to the dynamic, vibirant Lord Shiva, Kanak's plea is heard! For from the temple comes a lone figure, advancing gradually towards Kanak... the Lord cannot take shape himself ,instead he sends those held close to the heart of one who makes pleas with a contrite heart! Suraj Rathi meets his only daughter, Kanak!
To me it's another scene where the cvs once again introduce the audience to the inner most workings of Kanak's mind and heart. Given the fact that she never grew up knowing her father. But this she knows enough that he was handsome!the most handsome man in the world ! the ideal son of Bhabo! Suraj Rathi her father! Kanak even today considers him to be gifted with wisdom. Even today she has faith that her father will give her advice to come out of her stormy waters! Kanak stops to laud her efforts, when she reckons that her father wherever he is! Will praise her intrepid spirit in travelling from Puskar to Ladnun! He will probably compare her with her mother, who too was a gutsy woman unafraid of death in her fight for what was right! It's no surprise that Kanak basically being a good soul imagines that with her father she would confess her misdeeds ,which she committed during those five days she spent with Uma Shankar! where she had to lie, dupe and even pilfer Bhabo's papers and flee! Now with her father she expects that he will understand why she did what she did? in those five days! Within Kanak's mind there is little regret about her little sins in the grand scheme of things! as Uma Shankar did far worse by hoodwinking an old lady !
It's interesting when Kanak asks her father's apparition, within her mind of a possible way she could expose Uma' Shankar's fraud and win back her shop? Suraj gives her possible way outs, as I call them. Two options. Lord Rams way to fight for righteousness in the right way as long as the outcome is the defeat of vice. The other option ,she can choose is Lord Krishna's way. To fight the enemy ,using the same tactics the enemy uses.. deceit by deceit, as long as the outcome is to defeat the enemy! Kanak too thus, needs to see that guile can be good ,if the fight is for the truth. To me her father gives her the choice to use appropriate strategies! Kanak has to decide upon her tactics, whether to fight fire with fire! Or fight fire with love?? She needs to be clear of guilt.. pick out her weapons and keep her eye on the outcome of her war with Uma Shankar! Kanak like most of us has the choice to fight our wars the right way or the wrong way.. what matters in the battle is the virtue or vice of our intent! With hopes of winning back the shop back for Bhabo.. Kanak aspires, now to be the ideal daughter for her family! This scene for me is the highlight of the episode.. cvs have presented well, in my opinion, this scene which touches upon moral values, and the importance of an individual's intent, objective in the great scheme of events, rather the manner in which they are dealt.
Kanak eats jalebi's after mulling things over in her mind. Yes to have the reminder of whose daughter she is? and whose follower she is ? Kanak gets her positive energy back! with no fear !no tear! no backing out! only forward march! with intent to win Bhabo's shop back .. she phones her brothers! Who give her both good and bad news! But most of all the siblings yearn to meet .. and Kanak gives a promising response.. they ll meet again..soon..
The bright star! as Meenakshi calls her, stunned by Bhabo's anniversary gaudy look.. puts aside the Rathi family feud and all attend the shop's 60th anniversary! So seems happy days are back for the Rathi's!
I think I have mentioned enough that I actually found substance in the episode.. it was lovely to see Anas as Suraj...noticed Uma was not around today.. I like how cvs, have used the idea of Hamlet, prince of Denmark talking to the apparition of his murdered father...his friends see it as a figment of his imagination .In the episode I see Kanak wrestling within herself about her next move against Uma Shankar who for her, stands as the very image of one who shows chicanery.. rather than the dharm preaching he does! Looks like Kanak turns up .. dressed as a bride??? Hamlet53 27.5.17
