In a flashback, Kanak saw that US put some paste for her arm last night with the words that it will help her with the last ritual. Then Suman says that she doubts whether kanak has the power to perform the last ritual. Kanak sees another bride being branded with a namemark while being held by her husband.

Kanak is sitting next to US for the last ritual, which is the burnmarkš² US aunt, Nanda, says to Kanak to bring her right hand forward. US says to Kanak not to scare. Nanda says that a true couple goes through fire. The man who burns makes the fireplate hot. Kanak looks horrified and scared at all times. Suman says to Nanda that Kanak can't handle it. Kanak yells "no" and turns her face.
