Doing item numbers is a trend in Bollywood. It is not only beneficial to the filmmakers but in turn helps the actors earn quick money with lesser hardship. Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Bachchan and many other big stars has done item numbers and now joining the bandwagon is Rani Mukherjee.

Rani is going to do an item number in Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi starring Shahrukh Khan and Saawariya girl Sonam Kapoor. In the beginning of her career, she had done an item song in Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala starrer Mann. The song turned to be a hit and after that she was flooded with many offers. Today, she is an established star and doing item numbers at this stage means enormous money.

Rani was reluctant to do any item number at this stage of her career but when she was approached by the man with whom she is linked up with and the producer of the Yashraj Films, Aditya Chopra, she couldn't say no. He made a generous effort to convince her to do an item number for his film. Apparently, Aditya paid her a heavy amount to groove in the song. The film is still in the production stage and touted as one of the biggest release of 2008

so this means sonam is in the movie rite?? coz there was news before that the role had gone to rani but so many stories dat its gone to sonam and sum girl named simran. but turns out rani is fter all part of the movie even if its an item number. which means sonam deffo is gonna be in the movie wid sum role or the other if not the leadm possibly the 2nd lead.

no smoke wid out fire rite??

^^ u no even sum1 like rani does an item number @ dis point in her career she wnt be seen as a "typical" item girl. we ave the likes of rakhi 4 dat label.

but ur rite i dnt wanna c her in aitem number either. cozzzz i'd rather c her in a full movie hehe 😳

but lets c where rani goes from here coz we hardly c her now. shez had no releases yet so i wanna c her bk in action. hope she rocks the item number but i prefer her 2 act then do item songs.

^ well she has done an intem song before but @ dat time she was new and she was reallyyy chubby as well compared 2 now. but it is now the trend of item numbers started. back den it wasnt soo popular.

but i just hope that the item number kinda fits wid the story and therez elegence 2 her item number and not cheesy and cheap.
