Part 8 April 1,2008

The music played on "Believe in love" from Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (instrumental). Ran smiled the fact that he was always there to help her. He liked saving her at least that's what he thought when he was helping Kan.

Ran to himself
Mein smile kyon kar raha hu? Wasn't I supposed to hate girls? What's wrong with me? It's all this girl's fault. Pata nahi kya jaadu kar diya??? The song played on "Pheli Nazar mein kaisa jaadu kar diya? Tera ban betha hai mera jiya. Jan ne kya hoga jane kya pata?....."

Finally, he arrived at the front porch of Kan's bungalow. He got down. He opened Kan's side of the car door. He blew her hair off her face and said "Kya ladki hai? Har waqt uske baal uske face pe aate hai? Does she look cute? Is it cute?" he smiled and then tried waking her up. She didn't wake up.
Ran said to himself "Ghode beche ke soti hai? Abeeee yaar, ab iska kya karu mein? Meri sari energy ko waste kar degi. Waise bhi I don't want to break my back. I am very athletic type of person. I don't think she weighs a lot. Plus, I think yeh to mere exercise ke weight se bhi kam weight mein hogi? Haha. Ranbir Nanda ko kya samajh te hai yeh log? Mein ish chipkali ko uske room tak drop kar du ga? Waise bhi mein to iske dost se bahout acha hoon. They ditched her haha.. aur mein usko yaahan tak le kar aya. She should at least thank me for doing such great favor for her."

Ran talks to himself for a while and picks her up and takes her to her room. Just when Ran was about to leave from her room he heard Kan scream.
K: (in her sleep) Please Don't leave me. Please don't leave me.
Ran went near her bed. Kan got up in her bed and sat a little wobbly and said, "Don't leave me. I don't want to be alone"
R: Hey no worries. I am still here. Just go to sleep. Go to sleep Baby. I am here with you. I am not going anywhere.

K listened to him and touched his hand. Ran held her hand and held her tightly and makes her laid back on the bed. She was still gripping on his hand. He could feel her touch. He slowly tried to separate his hand from her but it wasn't working. So gently, he raised his hand and kissed Kan's hand. He tries again and was successful. He removes her hand says "Don't worry, Baby. I am with you. Main hoon na" He gets up and leaves from there.

Ran went back to his car and sat down. He wondered why he said "Baby" he didn't realized that he called her baby. Why did he call her baby? What did she do to him. He was not able to realize it that he cared for her. Even though he denied thousands of times that she is just another girl. She was special. She was different. She gave him attitude. She talked to him that made him feel special. Why? What was going on? He didn't seem to understand his own feelings. Finally, he starts the car and drove back to his house. He entered his house. To his surprise the lights were on. It struck to him that someone is in the house. He was so happy for some reason and now that he saw lights on he is thinking that some thieves entered his house and broke in. So he took his hockey stick from the car trunk and slowly walked towards the door. He opened and tried not making any noise. Slowly, he walks to the living room. He felt that someone was sitting in the rocking chair. He goes near it and was about to hit he realized that it was his mother working on her laptop. So he screamed "Mom, aap?"
M: Ranbir, mere putar?
R: Mom
They both hug.
R: mom, wow! What a pleasant surprise
M: No problem. Plus, I wanted to meet my dearest son.
M looked at him and was shocked to see him in traditional clothes
M: Beta, kya baat hai? (ponting towards his dress)
R: Mom, woh to na? You know the duffer Vinnet he forced me to go to his organized garba thingy to see his girl
M: what Vineet has a girlfriend? Kaun hai?
R: Mom?!!! Aap bhi na? It's some girl name Riya
M: I see. Kab sudhre ga yeh ladka?
R: I know, that's what I was telling. Poor girl. I hope he knows about him
M: Did u tell the girl?
R: Mom, how am I supposed to tell her? Plus, you know me. I don't talk to girls.
M: I know. Vineet ki tara nahi lekin phir bhi tumhari toh ek bhi girl friend nahi hai
R: Mom, u know that I don't believe in the sh" (ran was about say the swear word but stopped in between.)
M: Aacha theek hai? Lekin agar koi pasand aye toh muje bata na?
R: ofcourse mom. You are the only one I have (Ran hugged M again)
M: Love you beta. I am so glad I came.
R: Love you too. You are the best mom ever.
M: I know.
R: ok so tell me how long are you going to stay?
M: why u don't want me to stay wid you?
R: No mom. Why would I think that?
M: I know beta. Dekho, kaal subh mein Toronto ja rahi hoon. Phir Parso mein vapash avu gi. I will stay with you.
R: Ok.

It just occurred to Ran that Kan's dad is going to Toronto too.

The next morning. Airport scene. Malika and Anand.

M: Anandji, aap. What a surprise?
A: Aap? Yaahan pe?
M: Haan
A: but I thought you will already be in Toronto
M: I was. But then yesterday, I felt like meeting my son so I came to Edmonton and then I thought why not just catch the flight from here.
A: of course.
Both nodded.
A: I met your son. Ranbir. That's his name right?
M: Yeah. When did u meet my son?
Anand narrated the whole story.

After a while, they discussed the conference and talked about how it would be better if the committee held the conference in the Alberta of B.C. But they still loved Toronto. Since, they used to live there for few years when they used to be neighbors. They talked about how the kids used to play and the immigrant experience in Canada how Desi community helps each other out. They did not realize that they were about to lend in Toronto. So they fasten their seat belts.
They got off. On the way to checking point.
M: So which hotel are you staying at?
A: My secretary booked Hilton Garden. I think it is in Richmond Hill.
M: My gosh. No way. Are you serious? I am staying there too. Wow, what a coincident.
A: ok let's hire a cab together. You will pay half I would pay half
M laughed at A's joke of paying the cab fare.

Attends the conference.

Mute conversation between Malika and Anand.

The same day, Kan wakes up and realizes that she is in the same clothes and in her bed. She tries to remember what happened? But she could only recall, the moment when she was crying and Ran wiped her tears. She didn't know what happened after. She got scared and wondered if she do anything wrong. She started to cry hysterically. She didn't know what to do. What will she do? Are they going to fight again??????????????????

Thank u all for your lovely commnet. I am glad u r all enjoying my writing.............. thanks.. means alot.. it is very encouraging so do comment b/c i do read them.... sorry tis time i donn have enough time to respond to everybody's reply but thanks so muhc. promise i will do it next time.

lovely, ... ran talking to himself was the best part......... aww..they r gonn fight.. i like when they fight.. they r cute... i donn mind. lolz.. but thanks for posting fast.........
