Kashinath Pandey arrives at police station with the intent to see Shankar. There is a crowd there and Banu Pratab stops Kashinath from entering saying he has come to bail out a criminal. Some one from the crowd says that Banu is stopping Dehdahji and to beat him up. The crowd starts throwing stones at Banu. Kashinath stands in front of Banu and tries to stop the crowd. Kashinath gets hit on the head by the stones.
Vikram is in his hotel room having a meal and waiting for Vrinda's call. He comes across his letter in the book he bought from the bookstore. The tv is on and in the news he sees a footage of the police station scene. Now Vikram wonders if what his father told him about Kashinath is true or not.
Vrinda is watching the same footage and tries to call home. In the news it is shown that Kashinath tells the crowd to stop taking justice into their hands and allow the law to do its investigation and decide.
Vrinda calls home and Krishna answers. She tells him that Kashinath is fine and tells her not to worry.
Vikram's mother Maya calls him. He asks her if she watched the tv. He tells her he doesn't understand which is Kashinath Pandey's real face. The one he saw on TV or the one his parents told him about. Maya corrects him and tells him not us, your father only. Whatever face of Kashinath that you have seen in this house has been shown only by your father, not me. Vikram says that means mother and father don't agree on this. Vikram asks her her opinion on Kashinath Pandey. Maya tells him that she can't voice her opinion as she is fulfilling her patni dharma. Vikram understands that without saying anything his mother has told him a lot.
Banu pratab is at the police station congratulating Inspector Mishra on a job well done. Banu tells him that in new days the new collector Vikram Banu Pratab will come and handle everything. Chief secretary Jagat, collector Vikram and Banu will form an army against Kashinath. Jagat comes to the station and tells Banu that the army will work only if they work together but the new collector has requested the chief minister that he will investigate the case against Shankar himself. The matter is adjourned for two days. Banu Pratab is taken back and assures himself and the others that Vikram must be having a plan behind his action.
Vrinda calls Vikram. Vrinda asks him if he is still awake. He tells her he was waiting for someones call, but now she has called him. Vrinda says that something came up so she was unable to call him earlier. He says he knows it was necessary for her to talk to her father. Vrinda says she doesn't want to talk about things that will increase misunderstanding between them.Vikram says that he watched the news on tv and seeing Kashinath's behaviour he could be dissuaded from his earlier opinion of Kashinath. Vrinda is elated. Virkam asks her where she is presently. She says she is in Illabhad. She asks him why , is he coming to visit her. He tells her to think about it, he may come to meet her but on one condition that she reads to him the letter he wrote to her. Vrinda is upset and tells him she has lost the letter in the book. She is crying. vikram teases her that she must have tore the letter up and thrown in the dustbin., She is a liar. She tells about the leaving the letter in the book. Meanwhile, Banu is trying to call Vikram but can't get through. Vikram tells her that he agrees he does not have the right to say anything to her father but he does have the right to tell her , right? Banu is still trying to get Vikram on the mobile he calls the hotel but the receptionist says he is not in. Banu wonders where his son is and vows to alter his son's plans.
Nirbhay comes to wake Shakti calling him Mummy instead. Shakti questions him and Nirbhay says that his mother has told him to call Shakti mummy and Krishna papa because Shakti doesn't act like a papa. Shakti laughs.
Taiji is talkign on the phone to Banu asking what Vikram is up to. Sanya enters her room with a tray of kheer. She hangs up and tells Sanya to announce herself when she comes into her room. Sanya tells her there so many things to say but Taiji had folded her hands and requested her not to say anything to anyone. Taiji asks her if she has come to threaten her. Sanya says no how could she ever threaten Taiji. Sanya feeds her a spoonful of kheer and takes her blessings.
Vrinda has gone back to the bookstore. Her book and letter has been returned. She collects the letter plus a big gift box. She doesn't know who has sent it. Vrinda is sitting in a garden on a bench. She opens the box and inside it is the book, letter and several other letters written on a hundred sheets. Vikram has written romantic poetry on each sheet, one or two liners. Vrinda is so happy. Wind blows and the sheets fly all over the place. She runs to retrieve them and chances upon Vikram at a distance.. She looks up and sees him. She is elated and runs to him stopping slightly short. They just stare at one another. Vikram puts out his arms. Vrinda goes to him and the hug. Doh dil mil rahe hai plays in the background. Vrinda tells him not to allow their relationship to become the target of misunderstandings as she will die should their love be lost. Vikram places his hand over her mouth and tells her never to talk such things. Vrinda tells him to tell his parents about them and she wants to meet his parents. Vrinda asks Vikram to take her doli to his house then they will never separate. In a quick response as a shock, he removes his hands which were cupping her face. Vrinda asks him what is the matter, did she say something wrong. Vikram assures her what she said is correct but he is the one making the mistake , hiding something from her. Vikram says he wants to tell her something about him. He tells her she may not be able to tolerate the truth he wants to tell. Vikram has second thoughts and decides not to tell her. Arms around each other shoulders, they walk. Vikram asks her if she remembers the first time they met they did not even know each other's names. At that time life was beautiful and now that we have gotten to one each other... Vrinda completes it by saying life has become ugly. Vikram denies it. He says its not ugly but complicated. She tells him that her mother told her that when life becomes complicated one should take the refuge of family. Nothing is more than family. Vrinda asks Vikram when he is introducing her to his family. She says he hasn't even told her his family's name. Vikram is perplexed. She presses him for his family name.

Q: When Vrinda finds out Vikram is Banu's son will she think that Vikram used her to get back at Kashinath on his father's behalf?
