I wasn't aware of any confusion? Because there are debut awards every year, one year the award was given as a joint award as well.
Main Hoon na failed to get any awards in 2004 because of the Roshan's and Johar camp......it was the one year that SRK did not get an award. Plus that was Farah's first film, she's more wiser on how to play the game now😉
MHN released in spring 2004, SRK won all the awards that year...He had three releases, MHN, Veer Zaara and Swades...He won the Filmfare award for Swades, IIFA for Veer Zaara and the "Most interesting male star" or summat for Main Hoon Na...SRK not winning an award is a contradiction in terms😆
Coming to the topic, it seems as though Filmfare has tried to inject some authenticity into its proceedings by nominating certain deserving name(Vidya for Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Darsheel for TZP, Mithun Chakroborthy for Guru), but has also stayed true to its tradition of pandering to the masses...Certain nominations like SRK and Deepika for OSO is farcical, though definitely an improvement on previous year's ludicrity
