A ride on Zee's new Gaddi

'Aayee re ayee re gaddi aayee re...' goes the catchy title track of Zee's new show Chalddi Da Naam Gaddi aired at 9 pm Friday- Sunday. The show is about a family of performers, gypsies, who hail from a small town of Punjab - Bhatinda and hence the name of their caravan- 'Balle Balle Bhatinda Wale'. Speaking on the launch, Punit Goenka, Network Operating Officer, Zee, said, "Chalddi… is an out and out entertaining comedy. The characters are so unique and so are their little quirks. The show has the capability to make one laugh and cry at the same time. This also is our step towards strongly establishing our weekend band from Friday-Sunday. In fact we have another show that we are launching simultaneously in the 9.30pm slot immediately after Chalddi…called Aladdin. This again is a very unique concept where for the first time we are using computer graphics and special effects in a prime time show."
