There are some places in this world which are so beautiful that the sky also comes nearer to it, it hides behind it. Such a town is one in which I live in. this is Sameera talking about her life, introducing it.
Her house, she says, may be small from the outside but it is a home and a big one from the inside, the rooms maybe small but the hearts are big. She says that this is where her dream to touch the sky, to become an officer sowed it seeds and it has come true too.
She says there are two kids in this house, Jugal who is 6 and not her blood relative but yet her own and Beeji who is 60 years and a kid herself. There is a constant war going on between them…for the television remote.
Rahim mamu is someone, who knows what she wants, when she wants, irrespective of what she needs and where she is. The jeep he is working on is also a family member since it has been around for so long. It is the biggest piece of junk there can be but if anyone even speaks about selling it, Rahim Mamu will pretty much kill that person.
Sameera's mother is calling her and telling her to get the achar from the back yard and also all the clothes since it might rain. She does that and as she is about to leave the place, a few air force planes are flying high in the sky leaving the trail of the Indian National Flag. She drops the barni and salutes the planes that are making the Indian flying. This is where her face is shown for the first time and she is in a pink salwar suit.
Jugal calls her to see the news, and there is a bomb blast because of India-Pakistan terrorism called the Samjhota blast. The defence misinister says that they will now declare war on these terrorists because enough of table conversations and agreements, reaping no fruits have been signed…it is now time for action.
The terrorist camp hears this over the radio and the head says that now they should welcome these people and say that by the time they come everyone would have destroyed what they had too and gone. The head says that what the Indian ministry doesn't know is that he is under their nose, in their Indian Airforce.
The emergency meeting is being called and the Minister asks who this mision should be given to and Veer Pratap Singh's name is taken, who has a 100% track record and has also prepared a mission.
Veer gets off the air force plane and he is given a letter stating that he is needed to head to Delhi for a meeting. He tells a junior that he needs to go and that a call letter should be sent to the five people he has selected for this mission. When the junior asks him that the meeting is for the Samjhota blasts, Veer tells him that it is a fight against terrorism.
Sammera gets the call letter and is excited. She runs to her mother telling her the same. When her mother doesn't understand it completely she tells her mother that she has been selected for a particular mission where in those who have an amazing track record and past performances have been selected. She tells her mother that now she can fulfil her father's dream, to which her mother says she did that they day she joined the airforce. She tells Sameera that she should go pack now and leave since she has to report to the base in a few hours. She tells her mother that she is blessed to have gotten an oppurtunity like this and a mother like hers. Her mother, after Sameera has left to get dressed tells her father's photo that today is a matter of pride for them. She then gets a bit worried and says that she knows the territory Sammera is getting into is a dangerous one and there are many secrets of the past there. She prays to god that Sammera never finds these secrets of the past.
Sameera is getting ready and is in her air force attire. She is then shown walking on the base and she collides with the terrorist guy and her bag falls open. She is collecting her stuff when Veer drives past and stops the jeep. She gets up and salutes him. Her uniform has also fallen down and he tells her that today's generation doesn't respect the Air force much. To which she replies that she does so, and when he comments about her uniform that has fallen down, she says she respects it as much as the Indian flag and she has the oppurtunity to prove it now. He says he can see that and leaves. She picks up her uniform and is proud while seeing it.
The meeting takes place and everyone is talking about what steps to take. Veer enters, and says that the will to do something and the guts to do it should be there. After that everything is taken care of. He says his mission is called Mission Hawks and he has a few things he wants clarified before hand. He says that the defence ministry should show full support, his juduciary and his limits shouldn't tie him or his mission down, and the last one being six officers from different area's and expertise.
The Defence Minister gives a green signal for this plan and asks for a detailed report on his table in 48 hours. Veer says he will give it to him in 24 hours, he would have given it to them in 6 hours but one officer cannot reach so fast because he is a Prisoner of War in Pakistan, Flight Lt. Abhimanyu Adhikari.
Flexing his muscles and doing weights, with the guard staring at him, Abhimanyu is exercising. He drops the weights in the mud field and there is sweat trickling down his brow. Someone punches him and he falls down in the mud and he beats the hell out of the guy. Both the faces and clothes are completetly soiled and when Abhimanyu has almost killed the guard, some men come and beat him up with the back of their guns and press his pressure points, causing him pain. One man, holding a piece of tandoori chicken, and his foot on Abhimanyu's chest tells him that he would have gotten tired of this place and would want to leave now but he can't till he gives him all the information they need. It starts to rain and all the mud is cleared of his face and he says that his name is all the information they need, Flight Lt. Abhimanyu Adhikari.
