MUMBAI: Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh has been admitted to Bombay hospital following low blood circulation in the brain, hospital sources said.
The 66-year-old singer came to the hospital in south Mumbai accompanied by his wife Chitra Singh on Monday, complaining of weakness and was examined by Keki Turel, a neurosurgeon in the institute.
Following a physical examination it was found that Singh was suffering from low blood circulation to the brain and with timely medication a stroke was averted, Turel said.
"Singh is an old patient of mine and even six months back a similar situation was averted as he was irregular in taking his prescribed medication," Turel said.
Singh is presently recuperating in the hospital and is fine, he added.
