Triverni was a naagin once but when her husband died she ventured in to the human world to take revenge....However after some time she settled down in the human world itself and presumably re-married with two children - Vishnu and Rudra.
Kanak is her daughter from her first marriage as she's also a naagin!😛

^Hey sweety, the show started in early October....
A brief-ish storyline...
Amrita was the only child to the Naagraj and Naagrani who guarded the powerful naagmani which could literally do anything but they wanted to keep it away from people who would misuse it.
And example of such a person is Rudra Singh who with the guidance of Bhairavnath - a Tantrik - travelled to Thakshakvan and tried to kill both the Naagraj and Naagrani for the mani. But Vishnu [Rudra's older brother] found a wounded Naagraj who handed over the mani and told Vishnu to look after it before dying in his arms.
A furious Naagrani manages to capture pictures of Vishnu as well as two of Rudra's friends, believing them to be Naagraj's killers and showed them to Amrita before dying. Amrita leaves Thakshakvan and follows her enemies in order to get revenge. She disguises herself as a young orphan and is adopted by a couple who love her immensely.
Meanwhile it's revealed that Vishnu and Rudra's mother Triverni is also an ichadari naagin who travelled to the human worls to take revenge for her husband but later settled here. However she also has a naagin daughter who was taken away from here at a young age. Triverni aka Masa doesn't know that her daughter is actually Kanak, a child [the naagin in disguise] adopted by Rudra on Bhairav's orders...
An evil naag by the name of Bhujang tries to bargain with Triverni, telling her that he that he'll hand over her daughter if she gives him the powerful 'Taram Patras'. Meanwhile Bhujang's son Kanishq is also after the mani and tries to sue Amrita as a pawn to get to it.
At the same time, Bhairav and Amrita clash where he swears to take revenge on her. Amrita also tries to attack her enemies on numerous occasions with the help of a foreseer Ambalika, but realises that they are being protected by a magical thaweez.
Bhairav manages to reveal Amrita's true identity to her adopted family who are stunned but accept her anyway. As a last resort, Bhairav kills her adopted parents. Amrita is stunned and strips him of his powers before travelling with Buasa and her adopted sister to a village where no-one knows them so that she can increase her powers....
10 year leap....
Amrita is a lot stronger now and gets ready to finally take revenge on her enemies. However Arjun, Vishnu's son, falls for her whislt she tries to ignore his advances.
Triverni finally learns that Kanak is her daughter after Bhujang kidnaps Kanak. Rudra, for his own reasons releases Kanak.
Kanishq is disguised as Keshav - a good friend of Amrita; presumably to get the mani. What no-one knows is that the mani was lost by Vishnu years ago and is still somewhere in the Singh house...
