'Sarigamapa' which had previously been started in Hindi by the Zee
Group has created a stimulation in the entire music world. Similarly
Zee Kannada's programme introduced some of the best singers in Kannada.
This time around 'Sarigamapa' is exclusively of musically inclined
married women in the age group of 18 to 35 yrs.
The programme is designed and an effort to bring out the best
musical talent amongst the "Grihinis" of Karnataka. This could easily
be the first of its kind.
More than 500 participated in the auditions conducted across Shimoga,
Davanagere, Hospet, Hubli, Gadag, Mangalore, Mysore, Hassan and
Bangalore. 32 participants will be selected from these to compete
against each other for the next 13 weeks. The elimination rounds will
have interesting variations, twists and turns and hence will ensure
that only the Best of the best wins.
The main attraction of 'Sarigamapa' is the host 'Vijay Prakash'. He
is basically from Karnataka and has already made his mark in the Hindi
film world. His songs are already famous in recent films like 'Cheeni
Kum', 'Swadesh', 'Omkar' and others.
Sarigamapa will also have big names from the Kannada music world such
as B. K. Sumitra, Manomurthy, B. Jayashri and Rajesh Ramanath as
judges.
