Teenager inspired by Bollywood dad's film
The teenage son of a Bollywood filmmaker eloped with his 13-year-old girlfriend, after being inspired by his father's film in which two childhood sweethearts overcome odds to unite.
The 15-year-old school boy, who is the son of Bollywood director Talat Jani, told police he ran away with his girlfriend because their parents were against the relationship. "The boy is a huge movie buff and told us his father's film inspired him to run away with his girlfriend," police said. The teenager said he has been inspired by his father's 2002 film 'Jeena Sirf Mere Liye' about two childhood sweethearts who exchange vows that they will live only for one another.
Police began looking for the young couple after the girl's parents registered a kidnapping case against the boy who surrendered to police over the weekend.
The young couple had planned to elope to a faraway city, but got cold feet and stayed in a Mumbai hotel for two days until their money ran out and they were forced to return home.
