Yes Khair...I too agree there. Ash is another individual and there is a Fan Club of her own. This FC is largely dedicated to The Bachchan men we love-Big B and Abhishek😳 Btw...should we be deleting the individual avis and siggys of ASH and keep her siggys and avis with Abhi and Bachchan family??

No Lakshmi, its ok as its on the first page with the rest. But i think a note on the first page specifying what i said above should be good to ensure that your FC is same as before and that all Ash information about her movies, pictures, etc go to her own FC. :D

Amitabh Bachchan writes a letter to Deepa Mehta

Deepa Mehta had no plans to attend the forthcoming IIFA awards in Yorkshire. But a letter from Amitabh Bachchan made her change her mind.

For nearly two months now, Deepa Mehta has been in self-chosen exile. It is not because of the loss of her movie Water at the Oscars. It is because of the passing away of her father.

Deepa has been with her widowed mother and avoiding all public appearances since April. She has been undergoing what she calls "process of healing" with her mom in Toronto.

Now, Deepa will come out of her seclusion for the IIFA awards which she would not have thought of attending had it not been for a letter from Amitabh Bachchan, who is also the brand ambassador for IIFA.

Mr. Bachchan wrote a special letter to Mehta, inviting her to IIFA where she will be honoured for her remarkable work as a director in a number of internationally acclaimed films.

Reports quote Mehta as saying that she was touched by Mr. Bachchan's letter. Mehta says she cannot say 'no' to Mr. Bachchan.

The three-day IIFA awards in Yorkshire will begin on June 9. Deepa will wear one of the saris of her mother on the night she is to be honoured.

Now, that's touching, too.

Amitabh Bachchan may face the heat from new UP government

With the intrepid Mayawati's unprecedented triumph in Uttar Pradesh elections, the Samajwadi Party, which has been supported unequivocally by Big B, is in for trouble.

DNA reports that the new Chief Minister has decided to target the friends of Samajwadi Pary general secretary Amar Singh and Amitabh Bachchan's name tops the 'hate list'.

Though no one in her secretariat is willing to talk as yet, informed sources say that documents of Bachchan's land deal in Barabanki, a district adjoining Lucknow, are being scrutinized by the new government. The matter has been discussed in the first cabinet meeting.

The report says, "This can spell trouble for Bachchan as the plot of agricultural land got the actor a certificate establishing him as a farmer in 1983. He needed this certificate to buy 20 acres of agricultural land near the prime hill station Lonavala in Maharashtra in 2000.

The laws of Maharashtra require that only farmers can buy agricultural land.

Earlier in 2005, the Pune district authorities had issued a notice to Bachchan asking him to prove his status as a farmer.

Mayawati has declared, however, that she will not resort to 'personal vendetta'."

Cannes festival to complete 60 years
Cannes, France, May 16: The much awaited Cannes Film Festival will enter its 60th year when it opens in France on Wednesday.

The 60th annual Cannes Film Festival opens will see a host of stars including Hollywood's most eligible bachelor George Clooney and Angelina Jolie.

Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai will open the festival Wednesday with his long awaited film 'My Blueberry Nights'. This will be his first English-language film and the acting debut of singer Norah Jones, who stars as a heartbroken waitress alongside Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz. Wong Kar-wai has been a long-standing Cannes favorite.
However, reports say that India's favourite Aishwarya Bachchan, who has been a regular at the Cannes, will this time skip the festival as she will be busy completing the shoot of her film Jodha Akbar. The actress was earlier scheduled to be at the festival for the promotion of the film along with co-star Hrithik Roshan and the director. Ash was supposed to share the red carpet space with pa-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and hubby Abhishek.
Between Wednesday and May 27, the red carpet on Cannes' beachfront Croisette will glitter with celebrities. Clooney is due to promote caper threequel 'Ocean's Thirteen', Leonardo DiCaprio brings environmental documentary 'The 11th Hour', and celebrity super-couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are expected to be there for the promotion of 'A Mighty Heart', a film based on the life of slain journalist Daniel Pearl. Jolie plays Pearl's widow in the movie.

Cannes takes world cinema seriously. The competition includes films from Russia, Romania, France, South Korea and Japan.

Founded in 1939 as an alternative to the fascist-dominated Venice Film Festival in Mussolini's Italy, Cannes came to symbolize international glamor in the years after the war. It had been almost immediately canceled due to the outbreak of World War II.

Stage fight!
The Amitabh Bachchan- SRK divide gets more pronounced with each passing day.

There is another example to prove it.

Big B's much-talked about World Tour One Amazing Night will now have some stiff competition.

And no prizes for guessing from who! SRK will embark on a World Tour titled Temptations.

Bachchan's show is slotted for mid-2008 whereas SRK's is scheduled for April 2008.

It seems too much of a co-incidence to have two major Bollywood stage shows lined up so close to each other.

Team Bachchan comprising beta and bahu Abhi-Ash will be pitted against Squad SRK's Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra (Squad SRK is still being finalised).

Amitabh Bachchan's secret of SUCCESS

What makes Amitabh Bachchan so popular?
Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is the most successful actor in Indian cinema. He enjoys a "DEMI-GOD" status in India; but why this six feet three inch tall slender guy is so popular? What is so special about him that makes people go crazy? Here are some of the things that make Amitabh Bachchan a great actor, a great human being and one of the most popular celebrities in India.

Versatility:

Amitabh is a versatile actor. Although his rise to fame can be attributed to "ANGRY YONG MAN!!!" movies like Laawaris, Zanjeer, Don, Trishul, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Suhaag, he did not limit himself in only AYM movies. Along with action movies, he proved his acting talent by doing romantic comedy movies like Mili, Abhimaan, Ek Nazaar, Kabhi Kabhi, Chupke Chupke. In Kaala Pathar, Amitabh played the role of Captain Vijay Pal Singh, who was dishonorly discharged for abandoning his ship and its passengers. His ability to portary different roles successfully makes him a great actor.

Amitabh's sense of professionalism:

Another most important thing about Amitabh is his sense of professionalism. In those days, it was a trend among superstars to appear late at the shooting spot, and demanding various facilities from the producers. Amitabh has changed the trend. After becoming a super star, he did not give into such unprofessional behaviors. He is known to be a very punctual and disciplined person.

Middle class upbringing:

Amitabh comes from a middle class family. He was born in Allahabad. Son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan, a well known Hindi poet, Amitabh is a very well educated and learned person himself. In those days, a career as an actor was not very popular among educated Indian middle class youths. Amitabh came and changed that scenario. This middle class upbringing also gives his actor image a great appeal. Many of his "AYM" movies' plots are based on the struggle of an educated middle class young man.

Jaya Bhaduri:

"Behind every successful man there is a woman." This may sound like clich but I think it is hundred percent true for Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh got married to Jaya Bhaduri in 1973. Together they worked in many movies. When they got married, Jaya was a very successful actress. However, she left her film career and became a house wife and gave rock solid support to Amitabh althrough his career. Indian society is a male dominated society and males are considered to be superior over females but no matter how strong or superior they are, a woman can make a man a COMPLETE MAN and Mr. Bachchan is a living proof of that.    Edited by fan_of_Big_B - 17 years ago
