Vansh Katha – The Fiftieth Episode
The Singhania Mansion… Anirudh's Room.
Anirudh opens his eyes and looks around. He knows this is his room but somehow something is different. It's like he's woken up after a really long time and nothing is as it should be. Like he's been dreaming for the longest time. Suddenly his door opens and to his surprise Vidhya Chopra comes walking in looking as normal as ever.
Anirudh: What the….
Vidhya: OH MY GOODNESS!!! Sidharth… Poornima… Come quickly!!! He's awake! It's a miracle he's awake!!! Anirudh beta how are you?
Anirudh: What are you doing here?
Vidhya: Well I came over to see you today and how fortunate I am that you woke up.
Anirudh: Woke up? Wait what's going on? Where am I?
Vidhya: You're in your home where else would you be?
Anirudh: I still don't get what you're doing here! You're supposed to be in a coma!!!
Vidhya: Goodness child what dreams have you been having? You're the one who's been in a coma for the past one year!!!

Poornima: Anirudh! Oh I'm so happy!

Sidharth: God has finally heard our prayers!!! Our son has come back to us!

Poornima: Well we may be your adoptive parents but we've never loved you any less than we have Nithika. You know that.
Anirudh: MY ADOPTIVE PARENTS! Good gosh what crazy world did I wake up in.

Vidhya: So true… He wakes up and the first thing he asks me is when I got out of the coma!!! Welcome back Anirudh… It's so good to have you with us again.
Anirudh: Something is seriously wrong. Where's Nithika? I need to talk to her.
Poornima: She's at her house, where else would she be? Oh she'll be thrilled to know that you've come back.
Anirudh: And I'll be thrilled when I talk to her. I need to go there now!
Sid: You're not going anywhere until a doctor comes in here and checks up on you.
Anirudh: I need to see her now!!! Out of my way all of you!
He got off the bed but his head felt so woozy that he didn't know if he was still sitting or standing.
Vidhya: Take it easy Anirudh. What's the rush?
Anirudh: I NEED TO SEE NITHIKA NOW!
Poornima: Ok, ok… The driver will take you. But be careful son.
Anirudh: Yea whatever.
Vidhya: Oh it's so good to have you back with us Anirudh… You have no idea how much we missed you.
Sidharth: We should throw a party to celebrate.
Poornima: Wonderful idea.
Anirudh: Great well you guys do that and I'll go see Nithika.
Even as he got into the car he wasn't sure of what was going on. He knew he was in some serious pain but could he have actually been out for the past one year. And that story about Poornima and Sidharth being his adoptive parents… How absurd. But they seemed to believe every word of it. And add to all of it, Vidhya didn't look as though she'd even seen the outside of a mental asylum let alone been treated there. Finally he arrived at the Patel House. Nithika would give him the answers he was looking for. He got down and walked to the door. He rang the bell and waited for a response. Finally the door opened.
Anirudh: Is Nithika at…
He stopped in horror when he realized who opened the door… It was…
Kaveri: ANIRUDH! You're out of the coma! How nice to see you son. Come inside… Oh Nithika will be so happy! Come in. Come in.
He walked in but he wasn't sure if he was at the right house. Everything seemed pretty much the same but something was not right.
Kaveri: Now you make yourself comfortable while I call Nithika.
She walked away and Anirudh was beside himself.
Anirudh: What is this woman doing here? She and Charith were thrown out of the house.
Nithika: Anirudh is that really you? I can't believe it! It's so good to have you back. Why didn't anyone call me sooner? I would have come to the house.
Anirudh: Nithika what the hell is going on?

Charith: Anirudh my boy! Sidharth just called me to give me the news but I didn't know that you would be here so soon to see Nithika.
Anirudh: What are you doing here?
Charith: I live here son. Oh you must be going through something. I can only imagine what it must be like to be in a coma for one whole year. To miss out on life like that. I'll leave you two alone for a while.
He walks off.
Anirudh: Nithika… He isn't supposed to be here. You and Bindiya threw him out of the house!
Nithika: I don't know what crazy place you've been in bro but no one threw mummy ji and dad out of the house.
Anirudh: That's impossible!
Nithika: Anirudh get a hold of yourself.
Anirudh: I can't. A few minutes ago I was alive and now I feel like I've been transported to this horrible place. Today is supposed to be my mother's birthday and…
Nithika: Today isn't mom's birthday.
Anirudh: MY MOTHER NOT YOURS!
Nithika: Come on Anirudh I know my mom isn't your real mom but since we were children she's never loved you any less. Listen, enough of this crazy talk, I have to go meet someone now.
Anirudh: Where's Manav?
Nithika: The creep is at workd.
Anirudh: The creep?
Nithika: That's what he's always been. You've forgotten a lot of things haven't you? Like what a bad marriage Manav and I had.
Anirudh: But you fixed all of that.
Nithika: No I didn't. In fact, you were the one who told me that it wasn't worth fixing and it's thanks to you that I'm now seeing Raket!
Anirudh: RAKET???
Nithika: Shut up! What is wrong with you? Do you want to tell the whole house about my affair? I mean it's not like Manav doesn't know but we don't talk about it.
Anirudh: But Raket doesn't even live in Bangalore.
Nithika: Of course he does. And I'm meeting him in a few hours so I need to get ready. I'll see you at home later this evening ok. And it's really great to have you back bro.
She walked away leaving Anirudh in more of a puzzle.
Anirudh: If Raket is here then I have to meet him and find out what the hell is going on.
He dashes off to the car, gets in and gives the driver Raket's address. Soon he gets to Raket's apartment and knocks on the door. It takes a long time but Raket finally opens the door.
Raket: GOOD GOSH!!!
Anirudh: Hello Raket! How's it going?
Raket: You're out of the coma! You got out of the coma! My man it's so good to see you!
Anirudh: Well it isn't so good to see you.
Raket: Still have a great sense of humor I can see.
He shouts out to someone inside.
Raket: HEY BABE IT'S OK! It's Anirudh, he's out of the coma.
Anirudh is confused at first but is in more shock when he sees who walks out.
Bindiya: HI ANIRUDH! Good to have you back with us.
Anirudh: Wait did you just call her babe? And what are you doing here?
Bindiya: Did you loose your memory while you were in that coma?
Raket: Maybe he did.
Bindiya: Anirudh you were the one who got me together with Raket after I told you that Dharm was a really boring good for nothing man.
Anirudh: I did no such thing! But for some strange reason Nithika seems to think that she is having an affair with you too Raket.
Bindiya: WHAT?
Raket: MAN are you out of your mind???
Bindiya: You dirty double crosser!!!
She slaps Raket and walks out.
Raket: What the hell was that Anirudh? You were the one who set me up with both of them and now you want to break things off for me? How could you? Man why didn't you stay in that damn coma!
Anirudh: This isn't right. None of this is right. I need to see Manav.
Raket: What you going to give him my address now?
Anirudh: Shut up Raket and get a life.
Raket: I had one until you walked in here and destroyed it.
Anirudh: Serves you right for sleeping with two married women.
Raket: What punishment do you get the? You were the one who brought all of us together!
Anirudh was sick and tired of what he was hearing and he stormed out of the apartment. He got into the car and told the driver to take him to Manav's office. When he got there the place didn't look like it was supposed to. It was all run down and looking like a garbage dump. Anirudh went up to Manav's office and looked inside. It was a small dingy place with furniture that looked like they were ready to come apart.
Anirudh: Manav?
Manav: Anirudh is that you?
Anirudh: Yea, yea I'm out of the coma. Does the whole world except for me know about this?
Manav: You should have just stayed in the damn coma if you know what's good for you.
Anirudh: Excuse me?
Manav: I know that my wife is having an affair with another man because of you. You put her up to it and now I've lost her forever.
Anirudh: I didn't do anything of the sort.
Manav: Oh so what this is redemption for you is it? You're in a coma for one year and suddenly you have the right to be all righteous!!! Look around you Anirudh! You destroyed me the day you send Raket into Nithika's life!
Anirudh: Well if you know all about it then why aren't you doing anything about it? Why blame me for something I can't even remember doing?
Manav: You're just so full of crap! I thought I could count on you but you are such a fraud! You destroyed me inside out and when you went into that coma I prayed that you would never come out of it.
Anirudh: From the way things are looking right now I wish I'd never come out of it either.
He left Manav to his sorry state and went back to his car. He got in and tried to adjust his mind when he saw…
Anirudh: MAHESH!!! What the hell is he doing here? Driver follow that car!
He was in hot pursuit of Mahesh and he followed him all the way to Kedarnath Gupta's office.
Anirudh: I should have figured out by now that I would end up here.
He got off and ran inside. When he got to Gupta's office room he was even more surprised because just as Mahesh left his stuff on one table someone else stood up from her chair at another table.
Darshana: Anirudh sir is that you?
Anirudh: What are you doing here? What are both of you doing here?
Mahesh: It's nice to see you again sir.
Darshana: We work here. You were the one who got us this job remember?
Anirudh: I did but…
Gupta: Anirudh! My son… It's so good to see you. Your mother just called to tell me that you were out there somewhere. We've missed you my boy. But you better go back home. You need to get some serious rest.
Anirudh: You're not in jail?
Gupta: What would make you think I was in jail?
Anirudh: This is crazy.
He ran out of the office and back to the car.
Anirudh: I need to talk to Badi Ma, this is getting out of hand.
He gave the driver Devyani's address and wondered what surprises he would get when he got there. And boy was he in for a surprise.
Devyani: I'm sorry who are you?
Anirudh: Badi Ma what's wrong with you? I know everyone is saying that I've been in a coma but I know something is wrong. You have to help me Badi Ma.
Devyani: First of all you need to stop calling me that. Secondly I've never even met you in my life so how am I supposed to help you.
They are interrupted.
Tariksha: Who is it mother?
Devyani: I wish I knew.
Anirudh: Tariksha!
Tariksha: Who are you? How do you know my name?
Anirudh: It's me… Vansh!
Tariksha: HOW DARE YOU BRING THAT NAME UP! Get out you sick son of a… Mom, throw him out!
She walks away in a rage.
Anirudh: But it's me… Vansh. That's who I am. I'm Vansh Rao why do I have to explain this to you?
Devyani: You're not Vansh… I don't know who you are or why you're here. Vansh Rao was killed in an accident a long time ago and my daughter has been a miserable wreck ever since it happened. Anirudh walked out of the house. He walked along the road like he didn't know what was going on because he actually didn't. He wasn't even sure of himself anymore. Could all of this just have been a dream? Was this really who he was? Could he have imagined the whole story of his mother being Anuradha Rao? Was she even dead? Nothing made sense anymore. Then out of no where came a speeding car. Anirudh was too lost in his thoughts to hear the honking and when he finally did and turned around… It was too late! The car ran straight into him knocking him off his feet and the next thing he knew…
Vansh: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Tariksha: Oh my goodness Vansh! You're awake!
She ran over to him and hugged him.
Vansh: Wait did you just call me Vansh?
Tariksha: No one else is here and I'm not going to call you Anirudh unless we're with someone else.
Vansh: So I really am Vansh right?
Tariksha: Oh no, did you hit your head too hard? Should I call the doctor?
Vansh: Have I been in a coma for a year?
Tariksha: What? You've been out for about ten hours but that's about it.
Vansh: Oh thank goodness.
Tariksha: Are you alright?
Vansh: I don't want to talk about it. So tell me where are Vidhya Chopra, Kedarnath Gupta and Charith Patel?
Tariksha: In the asylum, in prison and the last one I don't know.
Vansh: And Raket Sarin?
Tariksha: He's back in Mumbai.
Vansh: That was one crazy dream.
Tariksha: Oh so that's what this is about.
Vansh: Wait what time is it?
Tariksha: It's nine in the morning.
Vansh: It's my mom's birthday. I have to go to the temple.
Tariksha: We also need to find that file Vansh. When that car ran you down you lost the file, but it has to be somewhere at the accident site. I sorted out everything with the driver and he's paying for the hospital bill. He was very kind.

Devyani: That's right.
Sidharth: What do you want?
Devyani: Like I said… I want to help you.
Poornima: You know what's been happening and why it's been happening and you know who's behind it.
Devyani: Actually… I have been behind most of it. But I've been helping someone else serve a greater purpose.
Sid: WHAT? Who is it?
Meanwhile at the accident site…
Tariksha: That damn file has to be here somewhere.
She looks for it high and low and finally she sees it.
Tariksha: Bingo!
She goes up to it and picks it up. She wants to open it but she decides to let Vansh do it. She takes the file and gets into her car driving back to the hospital.
Back at the Singhania Mansion
Devyani: The person who's out to get you has been right under your nose for so long and you didn't even know about. He was responsible for sending Vidhya Chopra into the asylum. He was also responsible for Kedarnath Gupta's imprisonment. The girl who screamed rape – Darshana – was one of his people. Even throwing Charith Patel out of his own home was his plan… He used Nithika and Bindiya and brainwashed them into doing what he wanted them to.
Back at the hospital…
Tariksha: Here's the file.
Vansh: Haven't you read it yet?
Tariksha: No I think that you and only you should open it.
Vansh: Thank you…
He took the file and opened it going through all the reports.
Back at the mansion…
Devyani: His next target is the two of you but you know… I was feeling really sorry for both of you and decided to help out whatever way I could.

Vansh: Here it is. The party arrested under the name of Black Snake has been using this name as an alias for all her underworld connections.
Tariksha: Did you just say HER?
Vansh: Yes I did.
Tariksha: Black Snake is WOMAN???
