Film City is not safe
The Film City studio which is located in Arey Colony, Goregoan in Mumbai is not safe to shoot in." This is a comment made by one of the members of the Creative Eye production house.
Recently the sets of Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyaann experienced a robbery which caused one of the members of the unit to say that the studio was unsafe. He added that police ignore the cases even if they are registered. Thieves were going to steal trunks which were carrying costumes of worth Rs. 70,000 from the set of the serial produced by Creative Eye but ran away empty handed when they were spotted.
Mandar from Creative Eye confirms the attempted theft but is still praise for the studio saying that it is "the best place to shoot. Nobody has any complaints. Sometimes there is scare of leopards and some outsiders had come and tried to steal some trunks. We tried to catch them but they escaped from the place."
Mandar adds that they take every precaution to ensure the safety of the crew: "From production house side we provide our actors with all measures of safety. We carry medicines and take them to hospital if anyone has an accident. Further our fight master also carries out necessary measures when we have any fight sequence. In the night we ask any spot boy or light man from the unit to take care of our tempos and trunks. The studio's security guard also comes frequently and checks whether everything is going smoothly or not but it is also impossible for him to take a look after each and every shoot because there are too many shootings happen over there at a same time. Even the police's treatment towards us is very nice."
Rajesh, from B.A.G productions has another opinion when it comes to the security: "It is risk to shoot in Film City. Robberies happen over there every day. Some days cell phones are stolen and other days stuff like equipment goes missing. They have now made some strict rules for it. They don't allow outsiders on sets. But it is the unit member or junior artists' only who try to steal these things. Security guards are there but they can't take care of so many shootings at a same time. In our production house we provide our personal security. Our spot boys take cares of our belongings. Police don't response to any of our complaints. Leopards attacks is the different story altogether."
When asked about the dangers on the sets, Dushaynt from Balaji says: "We haven't experienced any robberies on sets as of now. Once I saw a panther, that's it. Film City doesn't provide any security and they don't even do their checking regularly. We ask our actors to take care of their belongings individually. For our unit's belonging as well our boys only takes care of it. No body does checking at entrance. I have no experience with the police so I can't speak about it."
With leopards and thieves roaming around freely, does it mean actors and unit member are not longer safe on the sets?
hey lrl shooting also takes place in film city na???????
