Adnan Sami sings his way to filmdom

The grapevine is abuzz with the news that this popular singer-composer is getting into acting. Sources said that he is going to act in a new film to be directed by editor Bela Sehgal and produced by her brother Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The script and screenplay of this romantic love story is said to be on the verge of completion and it is expected to take off later this year. Bela Sehgal is making debut as a director with this film. She had earlier worked in many of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films from 'Khamoshi' to 'Black' and now 'Saawariya'. She had also worked with Adnan Sami by directing the music videos of his album Tera Chehra'.

Reliable sources revealed that the singer went to the US for weight reduction treatment because of his film assignment. He had lost 90 kg in all and is still working out to loss 40 kg more. It is also said that the script requires a popular actress to act opposite Adnan. On asked if the rumors are true, Sehgal chose to go the middle path but not before throwing a strong hint. "It's too early to talk about the film. Right now, Sanjay is busy shooting 'Saawariya' and we will formally announce it when he gets some time off from it. You won't have to wait for too long for the official announcement," she assured.
