How do immigrants become citizens in UK?  Is there a way to gain citizenship?

Alia’s mom Soni Razdan was born in Britain. Her mother was also a British citizen. 

So a British citizen can claim for a British citizenship for their child even if the child is born elsewhere. Therefore, Alia even though was born in India was eligible for a British citizenship. 

I guess it’s cooler to be British than Indian. And also British passport is easier for travel some people claim so Alia has opted not to give up her British citizenship and get an Indian one.
