Anuj-Anupama, in a desire to build a small, happy family decide to adopt a 5-7year old child from an orphanage in Mumbai. Apart from her maturity and charm, it is her name that attracts the couple to bring her into their life.

Anupama, although initially doubtful, agrees wholeheartedly to be a Maa again to a young child. Her misplaced priorities, constant neglect to the child's needs and inability to protect her against abuse from her ex-in-laws' family.

She comes to know of her birth mother and her predicament and eventually gets manipulated into going with her, supported by the adoptive mother letting go of her.

Eventually, starts living in what seems like a pieces of a family when her birth mother is snatched away and her adoptive mother chooses her Udaan instead only to forsake the udaan taking her name for excuse.

Nothing changes even after the so called sacrificed udaan with the same misplaced priorities and neglect in loop.

Over time, the constant neglect harbours an insecurity and abandonment issues in the child. This is fuelled further by the misbehaviour and abuse by Pakhi and pointing out instances by other family members like Malati Devi.

One fine day, when the bubble of the family picture is broken in a fateful accident, her adoptive mother abandons her leaving her in trauma and fear of abandonment.

She finds a friend, a guide and a mother figure in Shruti who happens to love her adoptive father as well. While her father does Not wish to move on, he agrees to an engagement neither coming clean with his daughter nor with Shruti.

Just when they were on a healing process, they encounter the traumatic past un the form of Anupama who cannot recognise the daughter she adopted. The flashes bring back bitter memories and in what seems to be an incomplete love, Choti Anu, now, Aadhya is forced to relive the traumatic past and a future that is left to one's mercy, where the woman cannot seem to love and accept her is the same woman who her adoptivefather cannot move on from and the woman who gave her the stability and love she so desired is equally hurt to be kept hanging in love.

Choti Anu aka Aadhya was peaceful and a happy child better off at the orphanage than being adopted to parents who cannot become parents to any other child than their own.

I agree she should have been in that Ashram only. They were raising a happy, enthusiastic, positive child, who was grateful for the things she had. She wished for a family but still, she was living a healthy life both mentally and physically. Had MaAn not adopted her, maybe Maaya would have returned and taken her back and in the absence of Anuj would have not lost her sanity and taken good care of CA ... Any scenario for this young little child would have been better than the state of trauma and fear of abandonment that she is in.

It's all Anuj fault for adopting CA . I believe that someone else would have adopted her or maybe Maya would come back and leave for London .were she probably got new father

Adoption was not the problem. The speed of adoption may be was.

The biggest fault was that the so called adoptive parents do NOT understand what is adoption, parenting And it was not Anuj but BOTH Anuj and Anupama's.

The poor girl has faced so much trauma in her life at such a young age yet people still have the audacity to mock her to defend their Devi! Very shameful!

Pakhi tried slapping her. Told her repeatedly that her mother did not love her and after Samar's child was born she would leave her in the Ashram. When Anupama scolded her she told CA that the woman who is behaving like this with her real daughter, imagine what she would do to you who is adopted.. She would leave you, forget about you... She said all this repeatedly.

Anupamaa instead of either herself leaving with CA or asking Pakhi to leave the house chanted these golden words -  jarra akal nahi hai ki bachon se kese baat karte hain.. Kab akkal aayegi .. gadhedi etc... This was her response to a clear mental abuse. Then the next day when Pakhi told her that she can become mother, it was all business as usual between them.. smiley39

Adoption is really a big responsibility and I feel both of them could have taken their time to make a decision. And once they have adopted then they should have made extra efforts to make CA comfortable and feel loved. But whatever happened was a complete opposite.
