"Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" is a captivating story that has spanned over 15 years, showcasing the lives of four generations. Over 15 years the narrative revolves around our four protagonists - Akshara, Naira, Akshu, and Abhira - as they navigate through the trials and tribulations of life.. Passing the baton of legacy from hand to another

Throughout the series, we witness their relentless efforts to not only survive but also thrive in the face of various challenges. Each character brings a unique perspective and strength to the storyline, making it a compelling watch for audiences of all ages.

Ye Rishta starts with the story of Akshara Maheshwari. The one who started this all. The OG Female lead. Our Naive 18-year-old girl whose love for Hrithik Roshan and Disdain for exams is just all of us

A young girl with many dreams in her eyes and a practical approach to life. She was truly iconic.

One word to describe Akshara Maheshwaro would be - QUEEN.

To describe their story, here is a little poem

Naitik, a man of strength and grace,
Akshara, a woman with a gentle embrace.

Their story began with a sacred vow,
United in wedlock, they both avow.

Naitik and Akshara's journey is one filled with love, growth, and resilience. They began their story as two individuals brought together through an arranged marriage. Despite the initial unfamiliarity, they soon discovered a deep connection and a shared understanding.

Their journey as husband and wife was not without its challenges. They faced financial difficulties, misunderstandings, and the pressures of a joint family. Naitik and Akshara's love blossomed with the arrival of their children, Naksh and Naira. Akshara was gone but her legacy lived on through her Daughter Naira

Naira's journey is one filled with ups and downs, misunderstandings, and ultimately, a bittersweet reunion. After a heated misunderstanding with her mother, Akshara, Naira made the difficult decision to run away from home. For years, she lived a life on her terms, navigating the world without the warmth of her family by her side.

 However, unbeknownst to Naira, her parents never stopped searching for her. Their relentless pursuit to find their daughter was fueled by an unyielding love that knew no bounds. Their hearts ached with every passing day that they were separated from their beloved child. Throughout this tumultuous journey, Naira's love for her father and brother Naksh remained unwavering. Despite the distance and time apart, the bond they shared only grew stronger. 

It was this love that kept them going in their quest to bring Naira back home where she truly belonged. But amidst the joyous reunion lies a complicated relationship between Naira and Akshara. The wounds of past misunderstandings still lingered in their interactions. While there was undeniable love between them, there was also an underlying tension that seemed impossible to fully resolve. Tragically, before they could mend their relationship completely, fate intervened in the form of Akshara's untimely death. The void left behind by her absence reverberated through every corner of Naira's heart. It was a painful reminder of all that could have been and all that would never be. Naira's journey serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities of family dynamics and the power of forgiveness. Through it all, she learned valuable lessons about love, resilience, and cherishing those closest to our hearts while we still can.

While trying to mend her relationship with Ashara, Naira unexpectedly finds herself crossing paths with Karthik. What starts as a rocky beginning soon blossoms into a deep and passionate love. However, their journey is not without its complications. Adding to the complexity of their relationship is the presence of Naira's cousin Gayu. As feelings become entangled and emotions run high, a love triangle emerges that tests the strength of their bond. Amidst this turmoil, Naira finds herself blaming Karthik for an unfortunate accident involving Ashara. Misunderstandings and miscommunications further strain their connection. Yet through it all, Naira and Karthik persevere in their quest for understanding and forgiveness. They work tirelessly to sort out their misunderstandings and reconcile their differences. Finally finding common ground and realizing the depth of their love for each other, Naira and Karthik leap into marriage. Naira and Kartik's tumultuous married life has been a rollercoaster ride, filled with countless ups and downs. Their relationship has been marred by misunderstandings and miscommunications, leading to multiple separations. One of the most devastating moments was when Kartik accused Naira of infidelity, shattering their trust and causing irreparable damage.In an attempt to protect her unborn child from similar allegations, Naira took the drastic step of faking her death. This heartbreaking decision further deepened the rift between them, leaving Kartik devastated and longing for his lost love. Years later, fate intervened and brought Kartik face-to-face with Naira and their son. The reunion was a moment filled with mixed emotions - joy, and relief, but also lingering pain from the past. As they navigated through their complex emotions, both Naira and Kartik realized that their love for each other had never truly faded. This reunion marked a new chapter in their lives - an opportunity to rebuild what was broken and rediscover the love that had once bound them together. Despite all the challenges they had faced, Naira and Kartik were determined to give their marriage another chance and create a future filled with happiness and understanding. Their Daughter Akshara's birth brings a new light to their life. But as fate would have it Naira dies in a tragic accident. Leaving their story unfinished

But time does not stop for anyone. It goes on

Kartik now a single father trying to raise his Kids to the best of his abilities Meet Sirat, a boxer.  Sirat has her complicated past and childhood love Ranveer.

On one hand, Sirat develops a bond with Kairav and Akshu. On the other Kartik helps her reunite witH her Love Ranveer

But as fate would have it, Ranveer and Sirat's time together is curt short leading to the former's death

Fate plays another game bringing two broken souls Kartik-sirat together. Joins them in holy matrimony

They have a child named Aarohi

                            ~Generation Three~

The baton was now passed on to Naira's daughter - Akshara Goenka urf Akshu

Akshara Goenka's life has been marked by tragedy and loss from a very young age. Losing her mother Naira, she was raised by her father and stepmother, Sirat. However, fate dealt another cruel blow when she tragically lost both her father and stepmother.

The pain of these losses was compounded by the blame placed upon Akshara by her half-sister Aarohi, who held her responsible for Sirat's untimely death. Overwhelmed with guilt and grief, Akshara made the difficult decision to leave home in an attempt to find solace and compensate for the perceived role she played in the tragedy.

Twelve years later, Akshara returns to her family, hoping to find healing and reconciliation. However, despite being surrounded by a large extended family, she finds herself grappling with a deep sense of loneliness. The void left by the absence of loved ones cannot be easily filled.

Akshara's journey touches upon themes of loss, guilt, and the complexities of family dynamics. It serves as a reminder that even amidst a seemingly vast support system, one can still experience profound isolation.

In the tumultuous journey of Akshara and Abhimanyu Birla's relationship, their passionate love brought them moments of solace. However, their courtship soon became a complex web of emotions and challenges marred with goof-ups, Family objections, and even a love triangle with Akshara's half-sister Aarohi. But Akshara and Abhimanyu were able to overcome it, leading to their happy union

Fate had different plans for them, and the two lovers were separated twice. But destiny keept bringing them together. Sometimes in form of their SOn Abhir and in another times them teaming up for their family's interest

Akshara and ABhimanyu's love story is full of twists and turns and complications. With a tragic end

In a twist of fate, Akshara found herself broken and distraught, navigating through life's challenges alone. However, during a bus journey, she encountered a stranger named Abhinav Sharma who would prove to be her guiding light in the darkest of times. As their paths intertwined, Abhinav selflessly offered his support and assistance every step of the way

On a stormy night, when Akshara went into labor, despite the treacherous conditions and the daunting task ahead, Abhinav carried a heavily pregnant Akshara over the mountains to reach the nearest hospital.

Akshara and Abhinav's journey is a testament to the power of love and connection. From being strangers, they evolved into parents to their son Abhir, forging a deep bond that went beyond biology. Abhinav's love for Abhir was extraordinary and immense.

Their relationship didn't stop at parenthood; they became friends and eventually soulmates, experiencing a love that transcended conventional boundaries. However, fate had other plans in store for them. Tragically, Abhinav's life was cut short by an untimely death.

Despite this heart-wrenching separation, Abhinav left behind lasting imprints on both Akshara, their son Abhir, and their daughter, Abhira. Parts of him live on through the traits he instilled in Abhir's nature and the essence of Akshara herself.

Another great part of Gen 3 was the Father-Kid bond we saw between Abhinav-Abhir and Abhimanyu-Ruhi

The two guys stepped up and formed a  beautiful bond with a child who was not theirs by biology but still theirs by a thread of love

Nikkeji-papa and Poppy-Ruhi have all our hearts 

Akshara and Miracle Baby Abhir's journey is a restatement of Mother-Son's affection, its warmth.

Abhir was the light of Akshara's life. Her biggest happiness in her darkest times

                     ~Fourth Generation~

To Our current Legacy Holder - Abhira 

Abhira Sharma's life has been marked by her loving relationship with her mother, their shared dream of Practise law together, and her desire for a complete family. Abhira and her Akshara share a deep bond, with a dream of establishing their law firm together. They are each other's world, finding solace and support in one another. Abhira is known for her outspoken nature and fierce attitude, which fuels her determination to achieve their shared dream. 

Tragically, Abhira's world is shattered when she becomes a victim of a stalker's relentless pursuit leading to her mother's death. The loss is devastating, leaving Abhira to navigate life without the one person who meant everything to her. 

Abhira finds herself entering into a deal marriage with Armaan Poddar. This arrangement brings with it new challenges as she tries to find her place within the Poddar family while simultaneously striving to fulfill dreams that she and her mother had envisioned together.

 This heart-wrenching story highlights the strength and resilience of both Abhira and Akshara as they face unimaginable challenges. It sheds light on the harsh realities that individuals can encounter in today's world, while also emphasizing the importance of love, support, and determination in overcoming adversity. 

Abhira's journey is one of resilience and determination as she grapples with grief, adjusts to an unfamiliar family dynamic, and strives to carve out a meaningful existence for herself. Despite facing numerous obstacles along the way, she remains steadfast in honoring both her aspirations and the legacy left behind by her beloved mother.

It’s very heartwarming to see how OG Akshara’s lineage alive even today who would’ve thought that we’d be watching her great granddaughter on our screens 15 years later. 

Writers, directors, producers, designers and most importantly actors deserve praise for living up to their roles.

Happy 15th Anniversary to a very successful show let’s see how long this show runs for and if it can make it to its next major anniversary.
