Will Zoya Akhtar make a comeback, or is she headed towards obscurity?

If you look at most Bollywood directors over the past two decades at least, they tend to follow a similar trajectory. Whether it's Imtiaz Ali, Anand L. Rai, Vikas Bahl, Anurag Basu, and others, they often start with a surprising hit featuring lesser-known actors, rise to stardom, and then work with big stars which turn out to be their worst work and they often fade into obscurity afterward.

The exception seems to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who managed to revive his career with Ram Leela. So, the question here is whether Zoya Akhtar will find her Ram Leela in her next project or gradually fade into obscurity.

She will do great even. She deliberately bombed Archies when she realized editing will not save it, and it did well with western critics. She actually produced KGHK properly. She is angling for a western contract and she will get one.

I already had my rant about Hack-tar on the other thread. But Hack-tar herself is the Nepo-iest of Nepo kids, so she is never going away.

She has the favors of the Khans, Bachchans, and Kapoors now. She is not going anywhere.

She literally just had Made In Heaven S2, that was well received by the audience.

Archies was an OTT venture conceived by Netflix, Zoya was roped in later.

She is a good director, and Archies's failure is more on the nepos, and not on Zoya herself.

She is going nowhere. She also has no competition because no one in BW currently makes films like her (i.e, for the urban audience).
