Hello and a warm welcome to our live coverage of the first of the three ODIs between West Indies and England at North Sound, Antigua. It’s the beginning of a new dawn for both sides in a way. After England’s dismal performance in the recently concluded Word Cup, they would be eager to hit the right notes early in the Caribbean. Only 6 members from the English World Cup squad have made the cut for this series. It's a beginning from a fresh slate for the English side. It’s a big responsibility on the shoulders of Jos Buttler to lead this talented side from the front. On the other hand, the Windies had crashed out of the World Cup qualifiers earlier this year. Also, they won't be featuring in the 2025 Champions Trophy. They have been lacklustre in the ODI format off late. There are some notable names missing from their squad. But, it also presents opportunities for the incoming players to grab their opportunities with both hands. The word is that the pitch here might be conducive for spinners. Let's hope for a thrilling encounter! Stick around for toss and team lineups...

Shai Hope: We would have bowled first. Looks a decent wicket, it’s fresh and there would be a bit of moisture at the start. We have to take every game seriously, we have to look ahead. We have two spinners today and Rutherford is making his debut. We have a few changes.

Jos Buttler: Looks like a good wicket, we will bat first. I think it'll stay the same through the 100 overs so we want to make first use of it. Its an exciting series for us, lots of new faces and there's a lot of talent. We need to play positive cricket and adapt to the conditions.

England have won the toss and have opted to bat

36.3 Shepherd to Brook,  SIX runs

Shimmies outside leg stump. Shepherd bangs one in halfway down again and Brook is pre-empting it, giving himself room to free his arms and crunch it 92 metres, into a floodlight!

36.4 Shepherd to Brook,  1 run

Steps outside leg again, dabbing a shortish ball down to deep third for a single which brings him a 58-ball 50

Congrats Brook

37.1 Cariah to Brook,  SIX runs

Slog-swept over deep backward square! Gets down on one knee and lofts over the leg side
