Oh life is bigger

It's bigger than you

And you are not me

The lengths that I will go to

The distance in your eyes

Oh no I've said too much

I set it up

That's me in the corner

That's me in the spot-light

Losing my religion

Trying to keep up with you

And I don't know if I can do it

Oh no I've said too much

I haven't said enough

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper, of every waking hour

I'm choosing my confessions

Trying to keep an eye on you

Like a hurt, lost and blinded fool, fool

Oh no I've said too much

I set it up

Consider this

Consider this the hint of the century

Consider this the slip

That brought me to my knees, failed

What if all these fantasies come

Flailing around

Now I've said too much

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream

That was just a dream

That's me in the corner

That's me in the spot-light

Losing my religion

Trying to keep up with you

And I don't know if I can do it

Oh no I've said too much

I haven't said enough

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream

Try, cry, fly, try

That was just a dream

Just a dream

Just a dream, dream

Back to Classic Hindi :) and Rafi... (I can't not post Rafi smiley9)

Here are 2 songs filmed on two of my favs from the Golden Era - Dev and Shammi.

The first... a dapper Dev Anand being an ice-cream vendor with a unique marketing strategy! He states life is all about a heart full of love and a sweet tongue.. and while you can only be blessed with love by the Almighty he does have a solution for the second... his ice-creams will make sure of it! smiley9

Zindagi hai kya sun meri jaan

pyaar bhara dil, meethi zubaan

Pyaar tujhe dega woh maalik o pyaare

zubaan main teri meethi karoon, aa yahan

(PS: Idk how effective his marketing is seeing as he's giving away all of his ice-creams for free smiley36)

Film: Maya (1960)

Music: Salil Chowdhary

Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri

And another one from Rafi, this time on Shammi, a song very unlike the usual exuberant ones pictured on him. You don't usually see a gham mein dooba hua Shammi..

Zindagi kya hai, gham ka dariya hai

Film: Pyaar kiya toh darna kya (1963)

Music; Ravi

Lyrics: Shakeel Badayuni

One of the most profound, moving songs I've heard from ABBA (did they ever make a bad song?)..  offering a life philosophy we could all use

Like a roller in the ocean

Life is motion, move on

Like a wind that's always blowing

Life is flowing, move on

Like the sunrise in the morning

Life is dawning, move on

How I treasure every minute

Being part of, being in it

With the urge to move on

Move on - ABBA

Album: ABBA (The Album) 1977

Songwriters: Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Stig Anderson

Nice theme of life 🙂🙂

When you worry

Your face will frown

That will bring everybody down 👎
