Finally watched the final week of the show.
The ending was just as sad as I expected, but I got some closure with the only relationship I cared about on the show. After being emotionally abused and gaslit Abhi got the son that was stolen him for six years back. In his final moments, he provided a emotionally healthy and safe environment for his son. While Abhir got to be a carefree child with no worries thanks to his father. That's all I ever wanted to see.
It's ITV male characters can do anything, but the female lead can’t have two children from two different men from two different marriages. So, the makers removed his existence from the show (for now). Did his character deserve better? Yes, but honestly, I think this ending is better than ending up like Kairav's character in the future standing in the background with no character development or tracks.
It took ten months and actors leaving, but the makers finally acknowledged the universal truth that Abhir is and will always be Abhi’s son lol. The same way the Gen 4 female lead is Abhinav’s daughter. I hope going forward the makers respect the fact that divorce and death doesn’t change a child’s paternity.
Kudos to the entire cast past and present for their hardwork despite the subpar writing and all the off-screen drama. Everyone did the best with what they were given.
