“Chale”, Digvijay looked up after listening to his wife’s voice and his dark circles and swelling of eyes told her about his sleepless nights and his face has aged so much in last six months that she can’t believe this is the same man who was so conscious about his appearance but nowadays, he looks like a man who has nothing to live for and this makes her heart ache for him.
“What has happened to him?”, This is the only question haunting her since last 6 months, one night, he came home smelling of alcohol which told her that he has been drinking for hours and asked “why me”, to her and collapsed on his bed and when he woke up next morning, he announced that he is leaving Mahajan’s Group but before that he will train Yuvika to become a CEO, Mahajan Groups need and this decision of him shocked everyone, since then everyone is trying to convince him to not do it so he agree to do that but on a condition that he will not live in India and he will handle the western branch of Mahajans. And the worst thing which has happened since then is he stopped talking to his parents, she has know idea why? And she never asked.
“Huh? Yeah, let’s Go”, He said giving her a smile which is so familiar to her, as she has been giving it ever since she has gotten married to him, the smile which holds only pain and heartbreak. She is stil wondering from last six months that what has broken the heart of this man who is as cold as Iceberg, initially she used to thing this husband of hers don’t have a thing they call as heart, but then she got to know that he has a heart which only beats for his Girlfriend.
“Yeah, her husband has Girlfriend”, she smiles at this thought, yeah yeah this makes her pathetic person to tolerate her husband’s infidelity, but then he has been clear from the day one that he doesn’t want her and this marriage and already has someone in his life and she agreed because she really doesn’t have much choice, at least he doesn’t call her a Burden.
“Aap Theek hai?”, she asked when he was about to leave the room and he stopped at his place and blinked his eyes which got teary at her question, before turning back to look at her and give her a nod. His wife has never left a chance to surprise him, sometimes with her words and sometimes with her actions.
“She is the only one who has truly been on his side for no reason”, He thought, everyone has used him for their selfish motives including his mother, he still remembers the day he heard his mother talking about how she wants him to inherit the Mahajan’s Group so she can rule over the house and teach Bhumi a lesson for taking her shine away, his father wanted him to be the CEO, because he needs to show that his son is better than prem’s children and not for him, Dada Babu kept showering his love on him till he was the sole heir of the Mahajan’s Group and sidelined him when his uncle’s family came back from Rishikesh as he is of no use to him now, then Simone, with whom he went to share her pain was confessing her love to Arjun, his cousin. On that fateful day, six months ago he lost everything, he held dear to him and decided to leave this power hungry world but then his Aunt, Bhumi convinced him to not do this but he needed to go away from here so he decided that he would shift to New York, the headquarters of western branch of Mahajan’s Group.
“And she said she will come with him”, What she has been made up of? She has supported him when nobody could, even after the pain and humiliation he has given her, he was heartbroken when his mother’s true intention came out, when his father’s selfishness broke his heart, when Simone stomped over his already broken heart but she stood by with him, without asking for anything in return, she did not even ask the question why he is feeling like this, she just gave his unwavering support to him.
And this side of her has made him realised what true companionship is, he is the biggest idiot in the world to hurt her the way he did, and this is what making him guilty, her selflessness made him realised how selfish his love is, yes love, his love for her is selfish, he realised this when, everyone, whom he thoughts loves him, proved him wrong. It took him more than a year to realise that he has what he always craved for and now he has decided to never let that go, her go.
“Kya hua”, her voice, once again broke the chain of his thoughts and he’s shook his head in No and took her hand in his hand, making her shocker at his action and went outside to attend the reception of Arjun and Simone, after which they would leave India for forever.
