A movie that still seems to be talked about, a movie that hasn't got lost in the annals of time.

But what exactly was so special about it?

A guy falls in love with a rain-drenched girl and wants to become hers by hook or crook. So he assumes the identity of her NRI lover whom she hasn't ever met.

A case of mistaken identity that backfires, and a love triangle that seems rather forced, but there is of course a happy ending.

But of course, the music is spellbinding and deserves all the love and adulation, esp. Zara Zara.

What's your take on this movie?

Music is spectacular. Zara zara and Dil ko tumse pyaar hua are still my fav tracks.

Dia looked very pretty.

All of them acted well - Saif and Madhavan.
Liked the camaraderie among the friends too.

Madhavan’s character is sometimes creepy, and toxic. Some of the things he says about Dia (like there’s no point talking to her, girls like her need to be taken in a corner or something to do something) when a side character interrupts him. Yikes. 🚩 🚩 !!

As a kid and teenager I thought that's what true love is like. Now being an adult I realise how toxic Maddy was. He was obnoxious, a khulla saand types and how immoral his father was who supported his son no matter what and berated saif's character for nothing. I don't even watch the movie now as it makes my blood boil.

Songs were too good. And such keh raha hai dewana nahi dewani hona chahiye tha. It was the boy who deceived the girl not the other way round

I watched its original one (Tamil one) .. The USP of that movie was great music, Madavan's charm and the sizzling chemistry between Reema Sen and Madavan. Reema Sen was quite lively in that movie but in hindi one Dia mirza looked quite bland and boring in whatever songs I have watched in Hindi version.

If you keep aside logic and reality the movie was entertaining but it was far away from reality. I mean imagine a guy fell in love with you at first sight when you were dancing in the rain and saw you few times in other cities and then take your phone number pretending as telephone department and after extracting your details he cons his way into your heart through lies by pretending as a fiance.. You would feel Hella creepy if it happens in reality. I appreciate it if the guy has guts to tell you about his feelings than playing creepy imposter games.. And the girl finally accepted him as she already fell for him.. But where is the trust? He is not trustworthy, the foundation on which their relationship was built was quite shaky as it was built on lies.

Now It reminds me of some fake profile I got in some matrimonial site, my dad was dumb enough to give my phone number to the guy to talk even before he come to see me but I was not dumb enough to believe his lies, I quickly spotted he was a fake profile.. It felt Hella creepy and scary and I changed my phone number and reported the account to the police.

The romance between Dia and Maddy is great. Maddy is an underrated actor. But the crux of the story a guy deceiving a girl into giving him a chance was wrong. Imagine a less good-looking desperate guy in the place of Maddy's character. It would not have taken two seconds for the audience to understand that this man has no respect for a girl's wishes.

The best and most underrated romantic film of 2001 Tum Bin. It is a semi-remake of a hollywood movie and a urdu serial. But still that film is a tad bit better. I am glad it became a cult later and got the appreciation it deserved. Diya is more beautiful.

But how unique and Indian of a beauty was Sandali Sinha.

Total Stunner. We should not even compare to classic beauties.

Remember 'Tum Bin' actress Sandali Sinha? Here's how she looks now

The feud between Saif and Maddy is the best part of the movie 😆.
