What a sad approach to the work of excellent artists.

Isn't it fabulous that one can still enjoy their artistic work. These artists did this work to be enjoyed also after their death.

What a chance so many people don't have...that there are millions after their death that keep their memory alive.

We can't avoid the physical death of a person but we can enjoy what they gave us during their life...😊

Reality is sad and harsh only.

Old films remind me of times, family, jobs, education, houses or places I had earlier but lost now or will never have now and also make me fear for older relatives in family.

I remember feeling a bit sad while watching Aamir as the old father in Dangal. It felt like Sanjay Lal Sharma had transformed into Ramlal 😭. IYKYK.

And it makes you realise that your childhood is fading with every passing moment :(

Yes exactly this.

There are certain relatives I was so close to. I cannot accept they are no more. I remember films I have seen with them. Or films that were their favs too. It kills me to be reminded that the time cannot come back.

There are others who I fear losing....

When you see old films or revisit old books or shows or buildings, you feel you can revisit or relive that time. Or hope to reunite or have things like old days again.

It just hurts to see people have changed entirely or so have places and things or have ceased to exist at all and will be or are forgotten and no one remembers them and one day we will also be forgotten or our memories, experiences, work or anything we held dear or ideas we held close, will not be relevant at all and no one will be interested or no like minded one will exist to share it with...

It sucks to see your childhood and growing years slip apart, and hopes, dreams of that times vanishing. And no ability to revive or relive or reconnect to that time.

So well said man. I was feeling a bit torn seeing Aamir as this old flabby dad in Dangal's second half.

Recently also when I saw his pics in white hair and beard and walking with a cane, I was devastated. I still have that QSQT, JJWS image in my mind.

I also hate seeing Madhuri, Juhi or Rani as moms and I was reading blogs of some 70s fans who still hate to see AB sr as dad and saw Piku as a total low for their icon. I can understand ones who grew up on Deewar or Don, could never handle seeing their icon play an old, irksome, constipated dad.

I wonder how we will feel if a Khan, Deol, Kumar, Roshan or Devgan does a Piku type dad role someday.

There's this old anecdote I read somewhere about an Amitabh fan who basically started screaming and abusing in the theatre after he saw Amitabh apologizing to SRK with folded hands in Mohabbatein.

Never faced such issues

An actor's movies are their biggest celebration. They might not be around, but their movies and characters will always be alive and adored

I get sad/angry, a lot of these films had a great impression in me during my childhood. I dreamt of a lavish wedding, falling in love, etc etc. but Bollywood portrayal (at least older) of those things were so wrong and misogynistic. It took a long time to unlearn and understand that as an older adult

I know yesteryear fans totally hate to see their stars ageing or sick or do crap roles or supporting roles.

I saw my dad totally upset when he saw Shashi Kapoor on a wheel chair and he felt bad that most handsome star of his time was wheelchair bound now and not even able to give acceptance speech at awards.

He also did not like to see Rajesh Khanna as dad in Aa Ab laut chalen nor liked Amitabh as dad in Mohabbatein and totally hated the scene where AB Sr apologises to SRK in K3G, Mohabbatein and kept saying today's actors are not a patch on Kaka or Big B so why are these stars doing supporting roles to these kal ke aaye bache.

I myself never saw crap like Boom, RGV Ki Aag nor saw Piku or Nishabd or Cheeni Kum as I could not handle seeing Amitabh in weak or villain or cheap role. I avoided Aks also after knowing what Amitabh's character does in that film. I have avoided Sooryavansham, Lal Badshah, Mrityudata crap as well. Only see his old films or decent films like Black, Sarkar, Paa, Pink, Baghban where he has some solid or atleast respectable role.

I have been avoiding Khans, Akki, Devgan, HR in crap films too. I did not see Aamir's number in Delhi Belly or cameo as a weirdo music director in Secret Superstar nor I like Salman in Bharat or Ready or SRK in Harry Met Sejal or Ra One or Ajay in Shivaay or other crap. Akki has been doing lot of crap too like Desi Boyz or Heyy baby or Housefull and I avoid it. HR thankfully does less crap but I avoided Kites.

I'd be upset if I had to see 90s and 2000s stars in crap like Lal Badshah or Piku type sick, cranky dad or a K3G, Sooryavansham type unbearable dad or a Nishabd type semi paedophile or utter crap like Rajesh Khanna did semi p*rn film Wafaa at 60 something and left his fans red faced.
