Even I have my list, will post it. But earlier ITV era was so dominated by Ekta, it was crazy.😆

I could not stop myself from saying this though i dislike Ekta dramas now.

But i was addicted to Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai and Iqbal Khan. IQ is such an amazing actor and continues to be in his new show.

Otherwise i did like Kavyaanjali too.

Ah, this thread brings back so many memories! I think I watched almost all of the K shows back in the day, but KGGK and KZK were top of the list.

PRB (Prerna-Rishabh in KZK1) were hugely popular back then. I moderated the KZK form and I tell you, the fights we had to deal with would put aaj-kal ki forum fights to shame 😆

I loved Prem and Mukti too and I hated Ekta when she ruined that. I've never forgiven her for it 😡

Also to a PP on KGGK - YES the Janki Devi track was the best the show ever had. Sakshi T is a Queen and she carried that show.

Stunning Sakshi Tanwar*9th AT* NOTE ON Page -148 - Page 43 | Bade Acche Laggte Hai

I agree that actors these days don't have nearly a tenth of the charm and charisma those veteran actors had to pull off even the stupidest storylines. The likes of Sakshi, Shwetha Tiwari, Smriti Irani, Shweta Kawatra, Achint Kaur...there's no-one quite like them anymore.

Sujal was a pathbreaking character on Indian Television that no one has been able to touch to this day. For the first time on iTV the masses witnessed the protagonist male lead have shades of grey & acting like a villian (all whilst being a love sick scorned loved inside). 🔥

We've seen all the Adarsh sons & damads on Indian TV like Mihir, Om and now Bam! Here we go - Sujal Garewal who broke all records with his pathbreaking character (that has SO many complex shades to him; the good, the bad, the ugly), so relatable & nothing overdone unlike shows these days, that force a negative side to an character to make them look the 'mills and boon type'. But nah! Sujal Garewal was not just the OG baap of them all, but he was real, relatable & iconic. All because the iconic Rajeev Khandelwal played it.☺️No kidding.

That kind of aura and screen presence? dialogue delivery? unheard of and not matched on Indian TV to this day.

Wasn't Pratham the first anti hero? I am pretty sure Kutumb came first/

I would not call it golden era. I think it was worst era and downfall of Indian T.V. and shows were foolish, ended nowhere, had no proper story and were regressive.

Anyway I watched Kyunki, Kahani, Kusum due to my dadi and chacha being fans of these shows.

I regret every moment watching these shows though.

That's your opinion but for me and many others who agree, it was the golden era for us. It was not only about the stories, it was the actors, actresses she put together on screen that were star couples that made the shows very popular.

The screen presence that Actors had those days, the chemistry, the emotions - you could feel them! It felt like you're living those characters. You laugh with them, you cry with them. Such kinda magic is no more.

Shows these days are just plain eyewash, OTT. The standards of both acting and choosing the right actors for the characters, have gone to the dogs and that to stray dogs! (like Maya Sarabhai would tell😎)
