Part three

At Sandhus residence, 7 am.

The disturbed grandpa couldn't finish his breakfast. He wasn't able to sleep full night. He could sense that something was amiss. Is Nehmat alright???

In a few minutes, his instincts turned into horror when he received a phone call from the upset Ekam informing that Nehmat was kidnapped since 11pm the previous night. The time she left for Kapoors.

Apparently, the cab driver lodged a report around 6 am at the police station after regaining consciousness at the roadside. Ekam found out an hour later after reporting for duty. The driver gave the description that fitted Nehmat. The kidnapper's face appearances was sketched and ekam knew the guy .

Ajay Kohli!!

Rupi was shocked to hear the familiar name of his granddaughter 's classmate. He was a nice chap. He used to attend Nehmat,'s birthday parties. She always spoke highly of his kindness to help her with her assignments. Why the hell did he kidnap her??

Even Ekam was puzzled. Ajay had always assisted his ex like a good buddy. What happened suddenly? Infact he didn't complete graduation and vanished from the college six months back 

A text came in . 

"Aaj raat dinner kare aek sath??"

It was from Harleen, the woman he rescued from goons on new year"s eve . Harleen was fond of him and he tried avoiding her. 

He switched off his phone after assuring Rupi that he would  rescue Nehmat soonest possible. Ekam traced Ajay's background and found details about his father's properties. He was pretty sure his ex could be hidden there. He won't check in to hotels or motels risking his plan. There was no record of him taking her  through a flight anywhere. Not even a train or bus. 

He must have driven the stolen cab and definitely he was not far. His father had three properties. A farmhouse in Chandigarh. A bungalow in Pune and a duplex condominium in Delhi. 

The farmhouse was the nearest. Without wasting time, the officer took a team of six men and drove to Chandigarh. It was a three hour plus drive. His colleague suggested him to contact the Chandigarh police station for help as they were located nearer to the farmhouse but he refused to get the department 's assistance as he wanted to keep matters low. No one should know about the kidnapping. Advait was running for elections on that day. He will unnecessarily blame Nehmat for anything.

What puzzled the officer was that did the politician know his wife is missing?? 

Did he take any action???

Why didn't he report her missing??

Was the political career too important for him that he neglected his missing wife?

Four hours later at noon, Chandigarh.

The team sneaked into the large farmhouse and searched thoroughly. Finally, they reached a small storeroom at the basement and found a broken char with bits of ropes everywhere. No one was insight.

The kidnapper and his hostage went missing! 

Ekam Randhawa was shocked like hell.

Who took them away???

Ekam decided to contact Rupi. As soon as he switched on his phone, he received a text message from a police officer. Immediately he rang the guy and was informed that Ajay Kohli was taken into custody by the Chandigarh police department.

The confused officer then enquired the person over the phone about who saved his ex and was extremely shocked to hear the name of the rescuer.

Advait Kapoor!!

He rushed towards the police station to bring Ajay back to Moga and deep in thoughts 

How the hell did he rescue his wife? How did he find out?

A phone call came in and the happy Rupi informed that Advait has won the elections . He was appointed as the new MLA. It was all over the news. Surprisingly, Nehmat was with him during the campaign.  Safe and sound. She even wasn't wearing the same attire. The confused grandpa then enquired the officer about Nehmat 's sudden presence in the elections to which the latter replied that her husband Advait already rescued her much earlier. He would return to Moga to find out 

Apparently Nikhil didn't turn out for the elections as his night milk was duped with two sleeping pills by his own father. He was kidnapped from his bedroom while asleep and left stranded at a warehouse nearby. Shamsher was determined to flop Jasmin 's plans. Advait must take the stand instead of his useless younger son 

The family thought he must have gone to the campaign venue a little earlier.

The delighted Naaz 

" Awwww, my cutie pie, u are so hardworking".

She was glad. Her husband would win the elections funded by her shrewd mother and hence having all opportunities to a more better life with power, money and status.

Unfortunately, Nikhil didn't turn up and lost the chance of lifetime to his older brother.

Part five - the climax.

In the cell, Moga police station, 5 pm.

He cursed himself for his stupidity of being clumsy and not careful when writing the letter literally giving Advait Kapoor the hint to trace his wife easily.

A flashback .

He left college midway and returned to his hometown in Delhi. His father Vikas Kohli was a millionaire. Being the only son, Ajay was pampered. His father was shocked about his son's decision to discontinue the tertiary learning and assist him in his business instead. The former gave his consensus realizing his son was in pain. Ajay gave excuses of education stress and feeling homesick hiding the actual truth that he was in love with a college mate and it was one sided 

The wealthy man bought his son's excuses easily and gave him a role to play in his business. Ajay was appointed as the MD of the company. Everything went on well till one fine day Jasmin Sandhu came to Delhi to pay him a visit. He was shocked that the latter knew every detail of him in Moga. Despite residing abroad, jasmin had local spies to feed her news.

The evil woman instigated him against ekam and nehmat stating the former was cheating on the latter. Ekam was having an affair with another woman. 

He decided to return to Moga to confess to Nehmat to accept his love and also to keep her away from a painful betrayal. Unfortunately, she was married off. He couldn't bear the sorrow of losing her and took matters into his own hands. Kidnap her and marry her forcefully. He had no choice. He was madly in love 

He didn't have much money in his personal account when he took off from the house silently at night hours . He decided to steal from his father's safe. He took some cash and a diary. 

The diary consist of his father's bank account and personal details including confidential matters.

He scraped off a page from the diary and wrote a note for the husband that he should forget his wife forever little realising that the back of the note had a hint written that could flop his plan.

In his excitement to get his ladylove after a long wait, Ajay Kohli made a huge mistake.

In his bedroom balcony, 5 pm

He sat on a lazy chair sipping a hot cup of tea enjoying the cool breeze of the evening weather. The winters were getting harsher with each passing day. 

Feeling exhausted from a restless night,  the whole rescue mission and winning the election campaign as the new MLA, finally Advait Kapoor decided to spend a lonely evening all alone .

His mind recalled the events of the night after he received the letter.

A flashback 

He returned to his bedroom. Still shocked. His fingers trembled . He still held the letter. He threw it on the bed freaking out, walking to and fro trying to control his anger and frustrations that he punched a fist at a glass window crashing it to pieces. Thankfully, no one heard. Everyone was fast asleep. He gave himself the first aid after cooling down a little. He took a few deep breaths. Cool down, buddy. U can do it. U can locate her. U will also win the elections. U can handle both situations together.

His wife was missing, kidnapped by a lunatic. He was worried to death. Part of him was glad somehow that he got rid of her but the other part still wanted her to remain in his life . No matter what, he had to rescue her  And it had to be fast. The campaign began at 9 am. 

He thought hard a while. Maybe the letter has some clue. Something has to be there. He read the lines a few times trying to get hints. This guy is a known person. But it's past midnight now. How to get his details. I don't even know his name. Was he someone nehmat knew. Maybe a friend. Shall i call Sandhus to find out. Naah , they must be fast asleep. But i can't wait till morning. Damn! What shall i do now? He threw the note on the floor and suddenly realized a few digits written on the back page. Slightly towards the left corner.

He rushed forward and picked up the note. Right at the back were the details of an account number of a few digits.  He was pretty sure it was the details of a credit card. Call centers operated 24 hours. Instantly he contacted and found out the account belonged to a Vikas Kohli. 

Through the help from a few contacts, in two hours, Advait Kapoor found out the full history of the business man . He checked through flights, trains and other transportations. There was no Ajay Kohli and Nehmat Sandhu on board. That guy must not be far. He suspected that his wife was taken to the farmhouse in Chandigarh as that was the nearest location. He contacted all hotels and motels in Moga. No check in by the duo. He wished his instincts were right. 

It was already 5 am . He had to act fast. He had four hours in hand. Chandigarh was a seven hours drive to and fro. He had to use a helicopter ride. Immediately he contacted an ex pilot friend who agreed to help. The guy owned a helicopter private ride agency. The journey took hardly less than an hour. He managed to rescue her and bring her back to Moga in time before the campaign began. The culprit was handed over to the Chandigarh authorities. He couldn't bring a kidnapper to the election ground.

They reached the venue by half past eight. Nehmat was still in a huge shock not due to the kidnapping but the fact the selfish shrewd husband rescued her and gave her an importance at least for once.

She wished to be kidnapped once again. 

She quickly got dressed into a new attire at a hotel room nearby the campaign.

After the elections, they enjoyed a heartiest lunch at a dine in celebrating his achievements. The family was still unaware that their DIL was missing at the early hours 

Still mesmerized with the breeze of the cold evening, he felt relieved that after all he was not a bad husband. He still cared for his unwanted wife.
