I think Sunak being Narayanamurthy's son-in-law has more to do with people wishing him well. I doubt any Indian cares about UK politics otherwise. Indians admire Narayanmurthy/ Ratan Tata/Premji.
He is a thorough born and bred British at the end of the day. His present connection with India is only through his wife. While there is nothing to be proud of, the only 'feel good' fact is him being of this Indian 'origin' and a practicing Hindu at that.
I wonder if he has taken the oath / will take the oath as PM on Gita? He did so when he became the MP.
If only Churchill was alive to see this day! But then he wouldn't have allowed such a scenario to pop in the first place. He would be rolling in his grave though.

If at all there is anything to celebrate about it is about the triumph of colonies over a colonial power.
If I understand it correctly, I think that is what most of the people are seeing it as, reverse sweep of colonialism and all. But still not sure what is there to celebrate.
Honest bolenga. Rishi PM bole toh apun shock.
British log ke khilaf bhotse prejudice hat gayele. Foreign (Indian) origin ke, minority (Hindu) religion ke, person of color (pehla non-white PM hai kya UK ka?) ko PM bana rele... toh matbal ab unko racist toh nhai bol sakte.
I WANT Rishi to think about betterment of UK and not India. Yet it feels good to know that someone that looks like me - person of color - has shattered another glass ceiling. ❤️
ETA: As HMR said, poetic justice.

Benjamin Disraeli was Jewish. In the era he governed, that was very significant.

Kohinoor was sold to the British by the then ruling class of India.
The same ruling class who sold the country to the British like it is their personal property.
British were cunning and manipulative for sure but our ruling class had an equal role in making us the common people of this land into slaves of British.
Rishi Sunak is a British citizen and he thinks of himself as Brit.It is no cause for celebration.
I will celebrate Rishi Sunak's ascent when the people from oppressed communities like Dalits and Tribals and religious minority communities like Christians and Muslims become CMs and PMs.
Thank u for saying this. I am feeling bad to see such celebration among indians like a fool! And kohinoor? Hello it was sold, not snatched!what is this give back our kohinoor! Don't act like beggers ,plz🙏 I live in uk, and know Sunak's policy,he is not indian,he will not think as indian. British media for their own trp,for their own benefit, hyping this" Pm from India " and indians are dancing like their puppet. Highly disgraced behaviour.
