Hey Guys,
I'm back with something new!
This poem is on ancestral displacement, its effect on future generations, longing for a home you've never been to or had and acceptance of a new home as your own. I've always wanted to write something like this because the themes mentioned above are close to my heart.
So, without further ado, let me begin.

Ancestral Glories
Some days I wished upon a star.
Too keen,
to have been,
to the place that yearned to be seen.
Of mountains and stories,
of ancestral glories,
of rain and shine,
oh wonders of mine!
But 'twas all in vain,
and fleeing with pain,
was all that remain.
Oh ancestors of mine,
the land of thine,
is paying a fine,
for what?
A land of refuge,
we dare not refuse,
while stories bygone,
are those we now mourn.
And then I realize,
the roots long forlorn,
were taken by storm,
but my footsteps here now,
on this land adorn,
a new story we must form.

Thank you all for reading this poem!
@dinazz, nice poem. We are all treasurers of memories!
Memories are timeless, and some memories are simply unforgettable.
Ancestral memories warm you up from the inside. But they also tear you apart.
Thank you!😳
Yes, its absolutely true, what you said!
Beautiful so mesmerizing thanks for wonderful poem keep writing ❤
Glad you liked it! Thank you!🤗
Amazing poem. So glad I came across it 👍🏼
A refugee is not something anyone hopes to be, and to constantly live with the memory of a home that does not/may not exude the same warmth yet is where one really belongs to is really painful. You made me feel every emotion in just these few lines 😭🥺
Keep it up! Kudos!
