NTR and Ram Charan  are 35 and 36 out of 40 in Variety's Oscar Prediction of 5 slots. For context, Harry Styles is 27 for the critical trainwreck My Policeman and  Dwayne Johnson is 40 for Black Adam. Make of that as you will. 

they will not get nominated or even close, but Its an acheivement to feature in a list which features mostly hollywood actors and that too by acting in a telugu true to its origin and not an english film or "international" films,  of course main credit is to rajamouli but the blood, sweat and tears of both ramcharan and ntr was palpable and their performance has really crossed boundaries. 

lot of others in their placed would have milked the attention the film is getting with the global audience dry

Rajamouli should really. That's how directors break into the international awards circuit. Two or three more big films and he could sneak a Best Internation Feature award

Did they ever pick something to send to next years Oscars ?

he seems to be doing it in a planned, polished manner, he was speaker at Toronto film festival as visionary and the movie will be screened in LA in Chinese theater which is apparently a big deal and he will be doing a Q and A, there is also a retrospective in NY, Q and A etc. 

yes, if he is consistent he may hit it bigger 

I don’t think the best actor nominations will happen 

But I’m am fully hoping / wishing for nominations for the film and for rajamouli 🔥🔥🔥
