Yeah it's been long speculated that he thought she's getting lost with all that's happening in her life and that akt was responsible for it.

Its more like she was opposite to him when they started out. But slowly they are rubbing off each other. While Aryan has made her more bold , self aware and strong, she has made him more vulnerable, selfless and soft. You need a balance in life and they are providing that balance to each other. So at this point they have their uniquenesses and yet are similar in many things.
