Has anyone watched this movie?

I saw it in the theatre and liked it. A well-made, emotional movie.

I haven't seen the original but this movie touched a chord somewhere. The costumes and cinematography were lovely.

It was probably too long and could have done with some editing. But otherwise, the movie was good.

Ek Asha ji ne gaane gaaye the purani Umrao Jaan ke ... Aur ek Alka ne gaaye hai nayi umrao jaan ke .... The songs and singing alone p!ssed me off ...so didn't watch the movie. Didn't expect a very high quality from it and didn't want to spoil my good memories of the old Umrao Jaan which was 

I've watched the original and I hated the fact that they butchered it by casting excellent actress Aish to play Rekha's character...

Ash was great.  Movie was good albiet a little too long and i wish they had had her dancing a bit more.  I also thought Abhishek was miscast 

Looks like Aishu, Abhishu and Sunilu all shared the same lipstick 💄 

I absolutely loved this movie n did not watch the original 

I watched Umrao Jaan (2006) at the cinemas and was traumatised by how depressing the film was. Jesus. Nothing good came here way. She lived a miserable life and met a lonely and even more miserable end. Aishwarya looked beyond beautiful though.
