No, she did not get free outfit to wear in an event, like Jahnavi or Sara does. Manish was really close to late Sridevi and is quite close to Kareena, so he would prefare Sara and Jahnavi over Fair and lovely Yami.

Katrina used to have a huge brand value at her peak. Her top tip barsa Pani became a hit even now. Katrina is known by masses.Yami has no huge movie under her belt. Her movies are catered towards niche audience. Most people only know her for fair and lovely ads.

URI had a box office collection of 342 crore .
Bala had a box office collection of 252 crore.

She received great reviews for both of those films. Among many other great films she was a part of. She had a lot more to do than Katrina did in a lot of her hit films. I find it very hard to believe people only know her for her fair and lovely adds.

Did she say it is for her wedding dress? The question was why she didn't wear one, and she said she *once* heard someone said this about her. So not for her wedding dress. And also, not firsthand info, so she left herself an out in case she were to be confronted by any false-claims claim.

For most functions other than very personal, the dresses are lent to celebrities, not bought by them.

Even if it is for her wedding dress, Manish still isn't obligated to sell her one. Brand value matters, and Yami doesn't have as much compared to the starlets like Ananya, Jhanvi, etc. He might not have wanted to be known as designer for the B-listers.

Once again, if this is about *outsider* getting shown the door, why didn't Yami hire a fresh new designer and show off his/her clothes? Why Manish? Because he adds brand value. Well, clearly, Manish didn't think she would add to his.

ETA. Not saying it is right that Yami has less brand value. She is clearly more talented and has given hits. But a quick google search tells me Yami has 15 million Insta followers. That twit, Ananya, has 22 million. Sara Ali Khan 40 million. Deepika has 65 million. Alia has 64 million.

Point is a businessman would look at various things before making a business decision.

Heck, even if he didn't base it on business, it's completely within his rights to sell or not sell to whoever he pleases. No one is obligated to provide Yami with anything no matter how much cash she is willing to fork out.

LGBTQ are a marginalized community. Yami doesn't come from a marginalized community either personally or professionally.

She is talented and successful. But like it or not, she is a B-lister. The brand recognition is simply not there in her case. That is not about being marginalized.

If it were the case, Deepika wouldn't have gotten mega designers. Priyanka Chopra has worn Manish's outfits.

Once again, Manish gets to decide who adds to brand value. Not you, not me, not Yami, either. if he feels selling to her would bring his value down, it is entirely up to him. In this instance, *he* gets to decide who is a B-lister.

A businessman is entitled to decide who to sell or not sell to. No one is obligated to sell or lend Yami anything.

Also, she wasn't talking about her wedding dress which, I presume, she would have bought. She was talking about what she *once heard* was said about her. ie, another function. Celebs wear borrowed wear for such events. A designer would be even less obligated to *lend* her anything

Fun part is, Yami very cleverly left herself an out by saying she *once heard* it was said about herself that the designer said the lehnga is not for her. 😆

Which means she can always claim she was only quoting someone else, and she didn't name the designer.

I had some respect for her before because she really was making it on her own. Now, she just comes across as a less crazy Kangana.
