Prologue

It was a dark rainy night, the clouds roared like they owned the sky. A lame body beneath the shadow of a lamp was dragging himself, to give itself the charge to walk. the children were playing cheering up him, and the same time, some water droplets kissed his cheeks. Opening his mouth, he quenched his thirst, and the lamp witnessed the tears that mixed with water as he drank. 

One can clearly see a body dragging himself to under the show of street lights. Children tried cheering him up as he passed their small houses, and water droplets from rain kissed his cheeks. He quenched his thirst as the lamp witnessed the tears that mixed with water as he drank them.

After a few steps, in the horrified darkness, he stopped by a small house with broken abandoned chairs, and sofa draped with a white clothe. The sight somewhere represented his empty life. He slowly closed the door behind and walked to near by empty garden, settled down on the hard pebbles and looked up at the sky. The sky too seemed ready to be ready break havoc on him.

He slid his hand in the pockets of his pants, and took out the old and pale wallet. It really seemed outdated, yet he kissed it as tears continued to roll down his eyes. He once again kissed it before opening the wallet to look at "her" picture.

Just when he was about to kiss "her" photograph in the wallet, A beautiful woman dressed in Dulhan Attire came running and tripped. He left the wallet behind as he got up and ran towards her to help. 

Who was she, a bride ran away from the wedding venue?

Maybe? 

And then he looked at his hands, she  was no where, unseen, only her photograph was there. On the other hand, he was holding another woman, even far more beautiful and innocent from her. 

Who was she? She was definitely 'HIS' con girl?

She was a bride who was forced into marrying a stranger but she ran away from the wedding venue.

Who? Ishana or Gauri

One

He looked at her face and couldn't believe himself. For the first time she seemed similar to the girl in the photograph. He blinked as he came to the realisation that the girl in the photograph was so deeply entrenched in his heart that he was subconsciously projecting her image onto every girl he met.

Which was unfair since the girl in his arms was no less beautiful than the girl in the photograph.

Her eyes grew moist like his as they stared at each other. Just then, he felt a sharp blow to his head. He released the girl and clutched the back of his head in agony, trying to stay on his feet as he whirled around to sight three tall, well-built men, one of them holding a wooden rod. The girl had lost balance and fallen to the ground from his arms. She bravely stayed got to her feet, confronting the men.

"What are you doing?" she shrieked at the man.

One of the men laughed aloud. "He could not have stopped me in any way from getting to you." He winked at her, a dirty smirk crossing his face.

She spun around and ran as fast as her feet could carry her. They chased her but she was nimble and quick-footed and managed to evade them, running into an abandoned cottage and slamming the door shut behind her frantically. 

The goons came up to the door and began banging hard on it.

The taller one said, "B****h! Open up! I'm going to sleep with you."  

Just as the words left his mouth, a blow landed on his face felling him.

It was him. He had tracked down the goons, and now he was determined to fight them, and make sure the girl was safe.

He dealt them sharp blows, putting all his might into his punches, fuel by the anger he was feeling at the attack.  

It took a while, but he had them all on the ground, defeated.

"Learn to respect women," he spat out angrily, panting at the exertion.

The oldest goon rose to his feet, staggering.

"Kaali naam hai mera. Kaal banke aaya hoon. Dekh lunga dono ko," he threatened before breaking into a run.

"You may do as you wish," he yelled back, waving a fist at the man. The other two men followed their leader, escaping into the darkness.

In a softer voice he called out, "Ms. Whatever, you may come out now."  

She opened the door of the cottage stepping out, her face lined with surprise and relief. "Thank you." she murmured.

He only nodded in acknowledgement.

"Gauri Sharma," she introduced herself.

"Omkara Singh Oberoi," he replied.

"But how do you know, I am hidden here," she chuckled.

He clenched his jaw, "don't pretend to be so innocent, you deliberately hide here"

"Haan, because they were in my search," she innocently answered.

He pinned her to the wall and warned her, "I know girls like you who runs away from their own wedding venue"

She arched her brow and objected him, "Then why did you saved a girl like me"

He has no answer but still he wanted to show victory over her, "Get out from my cottage and search an abode to hide your shameless face"

He is somewhat attracted to this girl but still remembering the other girl in his life.

He fought off the goons all by himself. Even got hit in the process.

The goons could not find the girl but he knew where she was hiding.
