After ages I have to say the show is now somewhere getting close to what I expected of it. The Ram Priya interactions across last two-ish weeks have been absolutely adorable, charming, heart warming and hilarious all at once š„°. Ram and Priyaās relationship seems to be moving ahead in leaps and bounds. And thankfully they are not shrouded in other people's problems (atleast to some extent) and have actually been reflecting on what they think of each other š
This whole week has been such a beautiful build up of progress in their relationship, the acceptance, the attraction, the attachment, theyāve established it all through some incredibly simple interactions. Some of the pictorial highlights for me:
Priya's finally letting her guard down. She's been spontaneously smiling so much more and is now even starting to think of what's changing within her. Her letting Ram tend to her wounds, her imagining him at the party, her opening her hair for him, her not moving her hand when Ram's hand was on hers, her willingly stepping into the "rain", her redefining the whole kachori thing as an experience where someone did something for her happiness, and her even being open to spending Rs 3000 on movie tickets to please the man child she has married š. Priya's walls have always been up but since the accident, and Ram's apology, support and concern for her, I guess she has tapped into her emotions for Ram a lot more and is just so nicely stepping into actually letting herself feel whatever it is she feels for him. Priya is not ready to define it as love because the fear of attaching herself to someone still lingers, but her being vulnerable and just going along with the flow for his sake is such a nice change šš¼
Ram on the other hand is his mumbling, fumbling self but is totally not hesitant with showing his care for Priya. He also now knows her so well now that he could very easily discover the best way to get under her skin was to simply throw a wet towel on the bed, and this is what often defines a relationship, you know you love them but also know how to push their buttons . Him being taken aback by the fact that she said she had planned something for them in the rain, then him being surprised that she stepped into the fake rain even though she knew he had used his coupon, and then her asking why he left early and they could've had breakfast together - just very small instances of how even Ram is noticing a change in Priya and how much he hankers for her to reciprocate the affection he has. It's quite sweet š³
The building attraction between the two, both emotional and physical, has also been nicely etched. Priya not pulling back her hand when Ram's hand landed on hers and both of them simply holding onto each other. Nothing was said verbally but so much was understood. Also Ram pulling her back to say thank you for trusting him, for choosing him and for doing all that he likes was such a lovely acknowledgement. I also liked how Priya was forthright about Ram lying to her and also that she knew about the rain voucher being used. I know there is a lot they both still need to tell each other, but atleast a few things are being spoken to instead of it being left hanging. Also their phone conversations are now just so normal and natural, very much like how a couple would talk on any given day. There is just a nice sense of ease between these two ā¤ļø
Finally the light-heartedness and slightly comedic angle to their scenes, specially the ones yesterday was so nice. Their back and forth at the office was actually quite sweet. The way Ram launched an attack intended for Adi and then felt the ground fall from beneath him when he saw it was Priya. His panic, his urgency to make sure she was ok and then him launching onto the laptop to make sure Priya did not know about his planetary research š
The next best bit was the highlighting of how different their attitude is towards money, Ram richie rich has all the money to spend and Priya's gobsmacked expression as if he was literally aag lagaoing her Rs 3000-4000 on samosas and reclining massager seats š¤£. Priya is just not used to this lavishness and Ram is very used to it so he doesnāt think twice. I don't know if Ram realizes Priya's insecurities around money but it was hilarious how he interpreted her money saving tactics as her wanting to sit closer to him š. It is so nice to see that Ram does not always default to thinking that Priya doesnāt like him or want to be with him, instead he is actually starting to sense her liking for him, even though he was a bit off the mark with that wanting to sit close to him thought š. And for Priya it was nice how she took up his offer to pay without becoming too caught up in her self respect or how she needs to pay/be independent. There is now a feeling of 'Its ok for me to let go and rely on someone else' for Priya and I love that! š
The comedic element is also such a nice break from all the drama and Ram Priya always thinking about other people. The way Priya shut her eyes and withdrew not knowing what Ram was looking at š¤£, and then Ram justifying he would never be looking at anything that she couldnāt see. It was such a frivolous little thing but so funny š. And also all the reinforcement from everyone that they were going on a ādateā. Priya's suppressed smile as Ram explained that it was a date for him but she could call it whatever she wanted to and was comfortable with. Somehow that was such a nice touch of acknowledgement that Ram does not want to impose anything on Priya and just because he sees things a certain way, she doesnāt have to š. It was like he was giving her the respect and space to be her own person. And this is so beautiful, because although Ram loves her he doesnāt want to impose himself on her. And THAT is really admirable šš¼ā¤ļø
I know the show still has its share of issues in the background, but for all the nonsense we have tolerated previously, I think its fair to acknowledge the good progress they've shown in the Ram Priya scenes and relationship ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
PS. Most impressive moment this week was Ram actually talking business with Adi briefly. Not that I understand the whole unit price thing they discussed but it actually sounded like they were talking about serious work and not doing their general vellapanti and therapy sessions on Ram's love life in the office. What a nice change to see a businessman actually talk business šØāš¼š
