AnuGun OS: Her Boyfriend
One fine day, several months into his marriage, Anubhav had been resisting the urge to look at Gungun's constantly ringing phone for the past five minutes. He slammed the book in his hands shut and peeked out of the door from his chair. Where was she?
As if in response, Gungun emerged into the room at that moment and went straight for the ringing phone. He followed her and peered over her shoulder. It was some... Ranveer?
"Useless," he heard her mutter before she disconnected the call and put it on silent, but who would quieten his curiosity now?
Before she could escape from the room again, he gave his musings a voice. "Yeh Ranveer kaun hai?"
She seemed quite surprised, yet she nonchalantly shrugged, "Mera ex boyfriend."
"Tumhara Boyfriend hai!" he exclaimed. She looked at him uncertainly.
"Main 'ex' kaha. Tumhe sunayi nahi deta ya fir itne old school ho ki ex ka matlab nahi pata?"
"That's not the point, Gungun. Woh ex ho ya jo bhi ho, abhi tumhe kyun call kar raha hai?"
If she thought he was being strange before, she now believed it. "Call usne kiya, mujhe kya pata? Once upon a time, he was being stupid, and I broke up with him. Aur details ki zarurat mujhe lagti nahi. Tumhe ho toh woh raha phone, silent mode hatao aur baat karlo."
For a moment, it seemed he would reach out for the phone for real, but then he stopped to see Gungun sniff randomly in the air. "Yeh kya kar rahi ho tum?"
She smirked, "Kahin se jalne ki boo nahi aa rahi?"
"Kya? Nahi toh!" he replied, alarmed.
"Tch," she frowned, "Mujhe toh aa rahi hai aur-"
She began sniffing the air near him.
"-mujhe toh lagta yeh smell tumhare paas se aa rahi hai."
"Y- yeh- yeh kya bakwaas kar rahi ho. Main gas stove par thodi baitha hun jo jal jaunga."
"Achchha?"
He nodded in response. "Toh phir thik hai," she nodded, as though taking the information in. "Achcha, maine tumhe kabhi Rohan ke baare mein bataya kya?"
"Yeh Rohan kaun hai?!" he asked, caught off-guard.
Gungun burst into laughter hearing his question. "Tum jal rahe ho, Mr. Scientist. You're jealous."
He relaxed. That was just her joke. "Jealous, aur main? No way," he said, as though it was the most impossible thing in the world.
"Tumhara Friend ho, Boyfriend ho, ex Boyfriend ho, Husband ho, mujhe kya? Main kyun jalun?"
She dissolved into another fit of laughter on hearing this, whilst Anubhav stared at her, perplexed. Had he cracked a joke? he thought.
"Tum mere husband se bhi jealous ho jaoge? Tum sach mein kamal ho. Aaj tak main kisi aise insaan se nahi mili jo khud se jale."
"Aisa- aisa kuchh nahi hai."
"Aisa hi hai!" she clasped her palms together in excitement, "Chant Chashmish Jelly Chashmish ban gaya. Yeh discovery toh sabke saath share karni hogi."
Saying so, she prepared to run out of the room, but he didn't give her the chance. Before she could cross the threshold of the door, his palms closed across her wrist. She turned towards him, surprised. Their eyes met, and something in that moment made him loosen his grip. Gungun didn't let the opportunity go and made straight for the stairs that led downstairs.
"Ruko! Gungun, ruko!" he made to catch her, but failed. She was already far away.
He slammed his palm to his face. Was she right? Was he really jealous?
He didn't know that, but he was surely dead now. That is, will be soon. Golu Chachu will kill him soon enough with his teasing.

I've to admit, a jalkukda Annu is a treat to even write, let alone read.
