It's a beautiful slice of life film more like a stress buster for me. There were many things to learn about. Shashi was everything a person wanted to be beautiful, talented, kind, emphatic, caring and an entrepreneur too. It was so good that she had her own interests inspite of being a full-fledged traditional housewife. Despite that her family ( Dad- daughter duo) undermine all her qualities and made fun of her only one weakness ( anglo bhasha lol).I get it by doing that the husband wants to be superior over her and control her and the bratty daughter was just being a teenager brat.

The film dealt with self- respect and love. When the French guy likes her for who she is she gets that confidence back and overcomes her only setback with hardwork and determination. I like the whole class especially the cute Chinese girl and the pleasant teacher.

I really love the bond of Shashi and Radha the niece who loves her maasi for who she is and who encourages her to stand up for herself and help her deal with making decisions.

Aaaah how much I rem just by thinking about it, thank you for making me rem this film 😊

One of the best women centric films made by Bollywood. Tackles issues of non English speaking and housewives. Real faminist film.

Only confusion was regarding her last speech, where she said that family can never be judgmental but her own family was judgmental regarding her English and her home made business .

I think that was intentional. That statement was meant to drive home to her family where they had been lacking.
