Ok I finally saw it

I loved some of the team members performances …particularly the actors playing jimmy, Srikanth and yash…loved pankaj tripathi as usual (nailed the hyderabadi accent)

The rest were too caricaturish I found…like u could tell when they were about to crack funny one liners coz they seemed way too excited and pleased with themselves before doing it …none of them got proper arcs (aside from the one where Kapil says binny, srikanth and Ballu can do better fleetingly and they all rise to the occasion in the next min)

Ranveer and deepika…sorry don’t see it …ranveers prosthetics /makeup and shots are on point but that’s where it stopped for me …nothing nearly as moving or Masterclass as what’s described in some of the reviews …deepika was tolerable until the “ab nacho” moment with the West Indies lady and I was like wtf that’s so out of character and cringe 😂

Direction and screenplay…I didn’t see anything new here except a rehash of chak de and bigil…which is disappointing coz those were fiction and this is real and yet I can’t tell the difference with all the cliche wise cracking players and sattar minute type speech …and the obvious cinematic moments played to an effect…it relied heavily on ppls emotions for the event rather than a genuinely rousing screenplay to induce pride

Saw it in usa (Philadelphia) and it was an empty theatre with the top two rows occupied (in a tiny 100 seater regal cinemas theatre)

Funnily, except MS Dhoni & Lagaan, every other cricket based film in Bollywood has flopped including Sachin's documentary. Lagaan again is an exception since it was just not cricket and was fictional and a period drama. Also except Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, every other sports film in Bollywood has failed and been a flop. Again Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was way more than just athletics and had good songs and was more a human story.

I think by now Bollywood should realize that Indians are used to watching sports on their television and they like it that way and that's where they belong. Even theatres which have planned showing cricket matches on the big screen over the years haven't been that successful.

Not all or generalizing but that’s what I have seen here.

I did suspect Ranveer was hated as he is seen as a rival to Ranbir who was otherwise hyped as new king of Bollywood.

I did not know SRK fans are still bitter about BM beating Dilwale at BO.

I do think Deepika being Ranbir's ex is also a reason why people hate on Ranveer.

I do not know why people hate Deepika so much either. Maybe because of her exes or her political stance or her PR? But it does seem a lot of hate Ranveer gets nowadays is due to the hate people have for his wife.

BOI..after not reporting Spiderman no.s as it showed bigger fall..and not giving comparable fall of Pushpa yesterday..reporting lower figures from offocial, in the last 2 days..

Is now saying that the film was steady after all..and not going to be a uh ah umm DISASTER after all!.. In fact it is rather optimistic now!

It is also ignoring WW, overseas numbers.

BUT..it got the attention, it didnt get for the last 2 years..not even for Sooryavanshi.

Amusing how those who failed to match Khans are now trying to ignore their 90s and 2000s hits.

Even a flop film like Mangal Pandey the Rising broke all opening records and became biggest first week collection of all times. Its record was broken only by Fanaa next year in 2006.

LMAO! Hrithik himself was influenced by Salman to build his body and by Aamir to do one film at a time.

Anyone who says Salman became a star in 2010 will surely be laughed at. No one can ignore his superhits and ATBBs, yearly top grossers before 2010. MPK, Saajan, HAHK, Jeet, Judwa, HSSH, HDDCS, Pyar kiya toh darna kya, Patthar ke Phool, No Entry, Maine Pyar kyu kiya, Tere Naam, Biwi no1, Sanam Bewafa, Love, Wanted etc are all superhits.

The frustration is understandable because no star has ever been able to match Khans despite all hype, producer papas, famous GFs or kissing ass of politicians.

And no propaganda or controversy could dent stardom of Khans who return again each time media writes their professional obituaries.

LOL at saying Amitabh was superstar of 90s. Nope. He retired after Hum and went to business. He returned to films only in late 90s with garbage like Lal Badshah, Mrtiyudaata, Kohram or playing sidekick to Govinda in Bade miya chhote miya. Amitabh got new lease of life playing dad to Khans or small roles in Khan films from 2000 onwards. Thanks to Aamir, Amitabh can also boast of being narrator for an Oscar nominated film. Thanks to SRK and Salman he got new lease of life doing dad roles in Mohabbatein, Baghban, K3G, KANK.

Big LOL if one calls Madhuri bigger star post 1995. She was giving flops post HAHK. DTPH saved her and she got a hit.

It is Madhuri who herself began working with Khans because she did not want to be typecast as older heroine working with older stars like Anil, Jackie, Sanjay, Jeetendra etc.

Sunny Deol has beaten Khans only once with Gadar. Otherwise he was doing well but Khans overtook him easily after 1993. Aamir beat him fair and square as Raja Hindustani became ATBB and Ghatak was just a hit (they released on same date). Even Salman beat all Sunny, Sanju films with ATBBs MPK and HAHK. Way before SRK drubbed him further with ATBBs DDLJ and KKHH.

Aamir and Salman are still giving ATBBs and yearly top grossers like 3 Idiots, Ghajini, Dabangg, Dangal, PK while Sunny Deol is retired or giving flops like Ghayal 2.
