Once they get into a genre, they want to beat the crap out of it.

Prithviraj was under 30 when he died. Someone like Ranveer or Ranbir or Varun or Ayushman, Rajkumar etc should have been cast as Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay Kumar is too old and totally miscast for this role. Too old for Manushi as well who is more than 3 decades younger than him.

Manushi looks expressionless, too statuesque. Neither the traditional beauty associated with Sanyogita.

I would rather watch the old TV serials made on Prithviraj and Sanyogita than this film.

It is totally unfair how Bollywood ignores younger, more suitable actors and makes mockery of historical characters. And monopoly of older lot continues no matter how unsuitable they are for roles they do. 

Atleast an actor in his 20s or early 30s should have been cast for this role. Akshay looks like Manushi's uncle rather than some lover.

Star Plus serial Prithviraj Chauhan way back in 2008 time I think, was very popular during the younger characters storyline. Rajat Tokas got a lot of fame, was actually quite fun to watch until the leap.
