The idea of Anuj's character was to draw the parallels between Anu's life and his. She loved Vanraj in a marraige and V couldnt care any less about her..she was devoted to him and her in laws and got pretty much nothing in return..Anuj's character is a karmic balance to prove even she is worthy of unconditional love and devotion..do we get to see people like him in real world? May be, may be not!! I believe there is so much in this world we havent seen so to dismiss that such people dont exist is not right. I have heard a lot of stories of sacrifice and love..example- am not sure whether you watch Bollywood movies..Shershah was a biopic on Captain Vikram batra and his fiancee chose to never get married and dedicated her life just for him..some people go beyond bodily needs and fill themselves with so much love, they never feel any void...sorry I dint mean to be preachy but may be people like Anuj do exist...probably they were never in our experience😇

Very beautiful put. We have not heard the story of all people who faced unrequited love. There maybe some who treat life as a tapasya.

Anuj is not virgin😆 and he was not single all his life. It was explained in two episodes actually, one in his entry episode and other in outdoor trip episode.

When anu asked him why didn't marry all this while he confessed that he had many serious, non serious type affairs even many one night stands but he couldn't fall in love with anyone of them so he never considered settling down. There was always anu in his heart and therefore he never really grew out of her love.

Now this makes his story and character like him believable. There can be a man who despite having other women in his life couldn't move on from his first love. He knew through their common friend devika that anu is happily married so he couldn't expect from her anything.

Yes man like anuj, who love from the depth of their heart without expecting anything are difficult to find but they do exist.

And a man and woman can be friends. Its not that difficult to believe in it. In present times also we have both girls and boys as our friends. We fall for some, some fall for us while some friendships always remain platonic and when finally we chose our life partner we dont break friendship with those who had crush on us or on whom we had crush. We just friendzoned them and its totally fine.
