The truth is, these trends are not reliable as I have seen how trends happens. It is a crooked process.
Fandoms plan the trends a week or 5 days before with fellow people. All the fandoms have 3-4 multiple accounts. In each account, they will make 50-70 drafts with paragraphs with required tag. On the trend day and at fixed time, they'll tweet all the posts without emojis and pictures. Then, they will retweet the fellow fandom tweets. So, easily they can enter into trending list.
It is the reason why no one considers trends as a factor to bring new season or repeat couple. On the other side, rival fandom and haters report the tweets to avoid trending. The only way is, it should get good TRPs when it was re-telecasted at the channel.
If the fandom is small, the number of multiple accounts and drafts increases...
