Aside from the horrible things mentioned and the grotesque imitation of the real character the dancing is the one thing that makes me totally sure that hypocrisy is alive and well keeping company with dusty forgotten ministers and dribble babbling infatuated and senile screenwriters...The dancing for goodness sakes! Bharatanatyam IS an art, one that is meticulously practiced and performed by a select few...they should all be offended at that cringe worthy performance by a talentless garbage producing kangana, if she gets any sort of national award for this movie I think everyone who loves the art form should hang their heads in shame and wear mourning clothes for at least a year....

Is Kangu has something going on with the writer vijayendra prasad. The way he recommends her left and right and not to mention up to south I am skeptical.

As for the movie, the woman who made history in the patriarchal Tamil society reduced to lover of someone important. MGR didn't announce his heir. The woman fought and became his heir. She is cunning, ruthless and smart.

The writer and director played too safe and this movie is more about MGR than Jaya. The performance also echoed this. The only reason I was expecting this project to be pan India so that it didn't get censored too much down south or banned altogether.

I am very much interested in Jaya that I am willing to watch even Kangu but oh boy. There is nothing to salvage in her performance be it the makeover, dialogue delivery or expression. Don't even talk about the dancing. She is zero.

I guess Jaya didn't have any good people in her life. If she had this ugly making would never occurred. This biopic reminds me Mahanadi. Savithiri may have died young and was a flawed human being. But she had good people protecting her legacy so that at least a decent biopic materialised later in the day.

Any cineliterate person can easily gauge the tone and treatment of a movie within the first 15-20 mins esp if it's as loud as the opening assembly scene and as cringey as the chali chali song, so don't really get where biasedness comes into picture. One just needs to watch more films, that's it. 🤪

That's all good and well... But I'm just surprised by how all this trolling in a review thread is allowed, yet, my comment was deleted by mods. Like how? What kind of circus is this forum? I'm sure no sane person is managing it.
