A warm welcome to the Featured Fiction of the Month Thread.
Dwight V. Swain famously wrote, “A story is something you do to a reader.”
Writers take their readers on a wondrous journey through stories. And to lead that, they undertake a journey too. A journey within.
When a writer first lifts a pen, the story is usually about them, coming from a place that’s still raw yet no less beautiful. As they write more, their world envelops the people they love, and the ones they had met and never forgot. Then, taking a step back, they weave the story through the new eyes of a stranger. What is the story saying to them? How will they feel about this? Will it make them laugh, or cry, or perhaps fall in love?
Nothing captures the complexity of human experience like a good story. They are the closest thing we have to magic.

So, celebrating this magic, we present before you Featured Fanfictions for September 2021.

Every month, the Fanfiction Development Team selects two exceptional stories from the Fanfiction section to celebrate and applaud the hard work and craft these writers put into their stories.
The selections are made solely based on merit, through voting by the FFDT, bearing in mind good vocabulary, grammar, plot, coherency, the flow of narration, characterization, and, most importantly, creativity.
The stories will appear under ‘Featured Stories’ of the FF section throughout the month as our token of appreciation for the writers as well as to make the stories more accessible to the readers.

One Shot Collection It’s Called

Writing is filled with Sweetness, Happiness, Joy, Craziness, Angst, Passion, Tenderness, Anger, Sadness, Solitude. And above all, Love! This is a collection of one-shot/drabble reflecting on people and life as inspiration struck. There isn’t a theme.
Meet Parm
Parm is a Punjabi girl, born in India and brought up in Italy. She has a degree in nursing. Living now near the Swiss Alps, she spends her day running behind a toddler and taking care of a newborn.
She started writing almost a decade ago after Kitani Mohabbat Hai ended. Arjun-Arohi were her first inspiration. Even after years, she still loves the characters of Arjun Punj and Arohi Sharma. She has a weakness for strong grey characters, with a tragic past.
She has written fanfiction mostly on Arjun Arohi of Kitni Mohabbat hai and Arnav Khushi of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. The last couple has her soul and heart.
During her teens, she loved reading thrillers, detective stories, and fantasy. But ever since she read Twilight, romcoms became her favorite genre, both to read and write. She enjoys reading a good angsty love story.
Her favorite authors include Kristen Ashley, JK Rowling, A.L. Jackson, Devney Perry, K. Bromberg, Mia Sheridan, and Aly Martinez.
She loves reading and baking. When she is free from her maternal duties, she loves going for walks, gossiping with her friends, and sending random GIFs to her GuardianDevil.
She has been part of both BC and CC in the past. She rejoined DT after a long time and is currently moderating 5 forums.

Arnav is a stubborn wall, and Khushi is an unstoppable force. When the two meet, it’s chaos that leads to hilarious results. Khushi is Arnav’s secretary, confidante, bodyguard. She spies for and on Arnav, raids his books and DVD collection, provides pointless advice, and in her spare time attends secret underground milkshake conventions.
Somewhere along the line, Arnav has fallen in love with her and his subconsciousness hates him for dragging this all out.
Meet RockBarbie
RockBarbie, who is also known as Sookie in the online world, has been around IF for almost a decade. She stumbled upon the site by chance and hasn't left since then.
Her journey into writing started with writing blogs. She feels her creativity takes the center stage when she gets bored. She enjoys weaving stories even about mundane stuff.
She loves writing about Arnav and Khushi of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? They are her favorite couple to write about, and it is the last show she ever watched.
She has also written fanfictions for Armaan-Riddhima, Maan-Geet, Nupur-Mayur and Mahadev.
At this point, she has dabbled writing in all genres. Now she has streamlined mostly into contemporary drama. She enjoys reading science fiction, fantasy, and translated literary fiction.
She doesn't have an all-time favorite author, she keeps discovering new authors all the time. Currently, she loves reading Sumana Roy and she has read all her works. Also Angela Saini, Martha Wells (Murderbot series), and Mamang Dai. Robin Hobb has turned into her comfort read.
She keeps herself busy with life and work.
