Moshi moshi everyone 🥳
I'm firstly inserting this bg music from one of the most aesthetically shot scenes from the movie, because it has, imo, all the ZNMD feels and needs to be spoken about more
So, here's to celebrating 10 years of this special, special movie that celebrates friendship, authenticity and spontaneity.
Full of emotions, of lessons, of soulful poetry, it's easy and breezy, it's motivational, it makes you hopeful and it will go down as one of the best friendship movies made in India! Crowned as the movie of the year by all award functions in 2011, this is one such movie that has so much of repeat value that I could watch it again and again, but I avoid doing it frequently only so as to discover it all over again when I do ❤️
Weaved beautifully in this journey to epiphany, the fun, chill and deep Imran (Farhan Akhtar) with a secret diary, the repressed, disciplined and uptight Arjun (Hrithik Roshan) who learns what it is to relish every moment, the sweet, kind-hearted and part-time psychologist Kabir (Abhay Deol) who himself subconsciously seeks for a kind ear, the fiesty, fearless and living-life-to-the-fullest Laila (Katrina Kaif) and the skeptical but loyal Natasha (Kalki Koechlin) (and of course the hottie Bagwati, the star of the show) have touched so many hearts with their real, palpable and relatable stories!
I still cannot believe how time flew and how 10 years have elapsed since I saw the first frame of the movie where Kabir bowed down to Natasha to utter the first dialogue of the movie: "Will you marry me?", unaware of the incredible journey that lied ahead of him. I still remember waiting for the trailer launch the whole day, 10 years ago, and watching Khaabon Ke Parinday a gazillion times to hear Alyssa Mendonsa's soothing voice and to watch Arjun relishing the feeling of being free and in love with Laila. It was this promo:
Cheers to the whole cast and crew for their amazing work, especially the wonderful Zoya Akhtar for this gift of a movie ❤️
