Hello!!
Today shows an insight of the dynamics different types of families have.... Joint Vs. Nuclear so to say!
I will try to add from my experience. I live in a nuclear family with my parents and sister, my best friends who I have known almost my entire life (since grade 1) lives in a joint family. We were also in the same school, class and used to be neighbors! So i have in some way grown up in her house as well and to an extent understand the dynamics of a joint family!
We see a shift... The shift is not in the family dynamics but in SAIRAT....
Today for virat sai is more important than his family, that is his love for her.... For sai she is attached to virat and gets that affection from him, hence she craves for the same from his family.
This track is to show Sai's feelings developing and how she handles situations at home when virat is not around. Her strength lies in him like his does in her.... So to be able to find that strength in each other despite being apart is the what this track stands for....
The sairat scene gives us an insight into the progression!
I could not help myself and I drew a parallel to the FIRST promo of ghum, where sai kept virat's cap on the table... Today she herself picked it up and handed it to him.... the sheer subtlety in that amazed me.... it was her completely taking on the duties of a wife with her will and want!
She wakes up early to make him breakfast, while he gets ready, she feeds him so that he has the time to go on getting ready and yet eat something before he left.
They banter as usual, sai couldn't sleep at night because of her worry for him, she understands the risks, she will never stop him but inside her heart, she fears his safety. she lost her father in his line of duty, and she was on the verge of losing her husband once before as well.
Today, both are able to express their wants to each other.... During amravati, virat post talking to sai said i missed our nok jhoks! Today before leaving he says I will miss our nok jhoks.... it was another progression, he will look forward to these banters... a ray of light for him to come back as soon as possible to his wife his home!
Sai hands him his gun, she apologizes to him for trying to stop him. Her emotions as a wife overpowered her emotions of knowing what duty means to those in the force. She has seen her father give up everything including his life for his duty, she sees the same dedication in her husband.
Bein the daughter of a police officer she learnt to gain strength, ofcourse she tried to stop her father as well, the fear of losing him was always there, she knows the risks but she also knows the importance of their duty and their farz! She will never come between that. Her progression from saying I am a police officer's daughter to saying I am a police officer's wife shows how much she is attached to him..
For him she is his strength! he has actually learned to stand for right no matter what seeing her, sometimes she becomes his weakness as well! When you are so attached to someone they have the ability to bring out the best and worst in you!
The fact that she cares for him is what matters the most to him. She isn't shy to show her worry for him anymore, she openly talks about her feelings towards him especially when he is away...
like a typical wife she tells him to call her, she even fixes a time... it shows her attachment to him, how she will miss him and want to be close to him through any possible means... He changes his wallpaper to a picture of the two, as a reminder of her with him... He will constantly see her face and will be motivated to be careful and safe to go back to her completely fine!
The sheer sense of pride she has when she hands him the cap and says Jai hind, he is overwhelmed with emotions, for once someone has understood the importance of his duty but also cares, he says it back to her with pride!
the typical hug-handshake that took place showed both confused for a minute but they laughed and high fived holding each other's hands! That showed their comfort....
As he leaves, he turns to see her, the last look of her which will stay with him till he sees her again.. She reminds him of his wallet, which he forgets in the moment lost in his wife. As he tries to take it she jokes with him, perhaps understanding how difficult it is to say goodbye not knowing what the future holds, they have hope but there will always be that fear.....
In that moment lost in each other, they feel comfortable enough to embrace... their closeness making another step towards intimacy, by him leaning in for a kiss on the forehead. She too closes her eyes in peace, until the alarm breaks them out of the moment and she runs off! He says I will miss you sai... not to her but to the presence of her in the room, he will and that is what will give him the hope and motivation to come home as fast as he can, to be with her.... All she wants is him and all he wants is her.....
Coming to the dreaded Zillat-
sai perhaps was at fault, See i am not saying her intentions were bad at all but in joint families you work as a unit. so yes she should have asked or informed someone and yes virat should have also.. but here is the dynamic change, for virat now only sai matters, he builds his life around her happiness.... for sai he matters the most but she knows his life revolves around his family, and hence she does things to gain the affection of the chavans make a place in their heart....
Pakhi as usual is vile, she uses the opportunity to create a mess.. she could have simply given the saree back to sai in private and the matter would be over, but she wanted to show how much she cares about the family's respect. She puts sai down once again.
Sai is vulnerable at this point because she is looking for the affection of his family, she apologizes for her mistake, which she understood when vaishali explained to her, she accepts that it was her fault to not inform an elder but she also knows that the topic is being escalated.
Pakhi instigates the family by showing how much she cares for their values etc, sai is not accustomed to all this, she grew up with different values, her father taught her to speak up for right and be fair.... Most nuclear families are such, i was taught to take a gift whenever I go to someone's house and i still do... My best friend on the other hand does not because she has not been taught that, what is told to her by her family is what she does...
Sai in her vulnerability breaks down and blames herself for being born and snatching everyone's happiness... how many of you have done this? I for sure have, when i feel i have hurt those i love the most I blame myself for being born and snatching their happiness, it showed her attachment towards them which stems from virat.
Aai understands her point of view and sees how the others are questioning her so in turn asks the right questions as to why there is a bias in the family. they talk about the values they have and the rules yet it is applied selectively. As usual, they hide their flaws which aai calls out...
There was no need for this entire drama, it ended at night when sai apologized to pakhi and her mother, but pakhi wanted to show how she stood for chavans!
Sai had no ill intention neither did she know the worth, it was an honest innocent mistake she made, which she understood and accepted with grace...
She questions pakhi on why she blows situations out of proportion and brings up virat... Now i don't want to get into that because the whole situation is still not over, I want to see how it plays out for sai to talk about her relationship with virat!
But time and again i have mentioned that Sai will never escalate an issue until and unless provoked so pakhi will for sure prove her for sai to give it back to her!
And what she said about the closeness of her and virat being due to pakhi's ego and over possessiveness stands true... She frees virat in her love whereas pakhi tries to tie him down..
I always think that if pakhi and virat ended up together today he would be away from his family and perhaps would not have been working as a police officer... that is pakhi...
Sai gives him his space and freedom hence he is fell for her...
Love doesn't tie you... it frees you!
I quoted mohabbatein yesterday of how when you love someone you love them for who they are and don't try to change them! That is Sai and Virats love for one another!
WE see a built of emotions of sai, her vulnerability and how she is affected by the taunts. The same girl who gave it back today cried not because she does not have the capability but because she is attached to virat and that attachment paves way to her attachment for his family, to be accepted and become part of the family!
It will happen, they will see what pakhi is trying to do slowly.... Virat already sees it, the elders will too...
But for that to happen sai will break down...
I don't know if they will show the track we all dread, i hope they don't and hence i will not comment about the possibility of it rather I will concentrate on the dynamics currently which is more to do with the build of sai and her feelings towards virat, her realization of love....
only when we hurt do we understand the importance of love!
Much love ❤️
PS- I have no idea what i have written, how long this is or if at all it makes sense! i am currently running on 2 hours of sleep.... and cannot function one bit! So I am posting this and going to nap!! 😆
Again strictly my POV, feel free to disagree!
I might add some points later when I am awake and in proper ability to think!
